1st ? on Haskins.
"Big fan. Had him rated pretty high (coming out of Ohio State... The big thing for Dwayne is he hasn’t played a lot of football.”
Scott Turner on call says he sees in Dwayne Haskins a "big, strong guy who can push the ball down the field. We want to use a lot of play action pass... Something he's also done in the past is get the ball out quick, distribute the ball to the playmakers."
— John Keim (@john_keim) January 15, 2020
Scott Turner said he’s going to fit his scheme around the strength of their players. Because of Dwayne Haskins arm, they want to do play action and quick passes #HTTR

Versatility:
Scott Turner: We have versatility within our system where were really going to play to our player’s strengths. Fit our scheme to our personnel.
— JP Finlay (@JPFinlayNBCS) January 15, 2020
Turner says there’s enough versatility within the offensive system to fit their scheme to the personnel. That starts with really getting to know the players on this roster.

Ron Rivera:
Turner said he thought there was a chance he would become #Redskins OC when Ron Rivera became the head coach. Turner coached four seasons with Rivera in Carolina.

Scott Turner says he "had an indication" he would get a chance as Redskins offensive coordinator, and he presented Ron Rivera with his plan for the offense and for developing Dwayne Haskins. The offer came and he jumped on it.

Dream job:
Scott Turner calls the job a dream come true, surreal.
— Kareem Copeland (@kareemcopeland) January 15, 2020
Tight ends:
“We’re evaluating everything. ...We’ll look at free agency and the draft” to obtain talent to bolster the tight end position. Tight end is a huge part of Turner’s system, so the team is looking at Jordan Reed and what’s on the roster but also elsewhere for talent. #HTTR

Game Planning:
Turner said he’ll be in charge of the game planning with the offensive staff but that there will be transparency between them and head coach Ron Rivera. #Redskins
— Kyle Stackpole (@kylefstackpole) January 15, 2020
Scott Turner says it's his offense and he will install and build game plans. But “If there’s something he’s not comfortable with, he’s the head coach. We're not going to do it.”
— JP Finlay (@JPFinlayNBCS) January 15, 2020
Turner said Rivera has done a great job in the past of “letting the offense run.” Sounds like that will carry over to the #Redskins

Developing young QBs:
"Guys see when it's there, and guys see when it's not."
— JP Finlay (@JPFinlayNBCS) January 15, 2020
Scott Turner mentions commitment level as key for QBs. Have to be the most committed guy in the building. Teammates and coaches need to see that. That’s how leadership is developed. #redskins
