ESPN's John Keim posted a list of coaches/trainers who have officially signed contracts to join the Redskins coaching staff under Ron Rivera. A lot of these names were known already and are now official. There are several new names, along with some reported names that haven't signed yet.
Who are the new coaches? On offense the Redskins added assistant OL Coach Travelle Wharton. He was an offensive lineman for the Carolina Panthers from 2004-2011, and again in 2013. He joined the Panthers staff as an assistant OL coach in 2018.
They also added Assistant Wide Receivers Coach Drew Terrell. He was an offensive assistant along with Redskins Offensive Coordinator Scott Turner at the University of Michigan in 2017. He followed Turner to the Panthers the following year and became an offensive quality control coach.
On defense the Redskins added Assistant Defensive Backs Coach Richard Rodgers to work with DBs Coach Chris Harris. Rodgers joined the Panthers in 2012 as an assistant special teams coach, and took over the ST Coordinator job mid-season, keeping it until 2014. He started coaching defensive backs, and took over as the Panthers secondary coach in 2018.
Speaking of special teams, the Redskins have added Assistant ST Coach Ben Jacobs to work with returning STC Nate Kaczor. Jacobs played linebacker and special teams for the Panthers from 2013-2018. He switched to coaching last season and became the Panthers Assistant ST Coach.
They now have three new quality control coaches, and two of them are related to coaches. It was already reported that Jack Del Rio's son Luke would be joing the coaching staff. Ron Rivera is also bringing his nephew Vincent Rivera to have a similar job. Vincent worked with defensive backs as a defensive quality control coach last season with the Panthers. Todd Storm was an offensive quality control coach for the Panthers the last two seasons and will continue doing that for the Redskins this season.
The final "new" hire is Brett Nenaber who will be the Redskins new Director of Athletic Performance. Nenaber started with the Carolina Panthers in 2013 as a strength and conditioning intern. He got a job as an assistant strength and conditioning coach the following year. In 2015 he got the title of Athletic Performance Analyst. The Redskins have also added Ryan Vermillion as the Head Athletic Trainer, and Dr. Kevin Wilk as a medical consultant.
The only reported coaching hire that Keim didn't list as official is QB Coach Ken Zampese.
