The Redskins announced another change to their front office today. Tim Gribble has been promoted to Director of College Scouting. This was Kyle Smith's job for the last 3 seasons until he was promoted to Vice President of Player Personnel yesterday.
“Tim is an outstanding scout and veteran in the league,” said Vice President of Player Personnel Kyle Smith. “My tremendous working relationship with Gribbs coupled with his 20-plus years of experience and 19 years as a Redskin made the decision an easy one.”
Gribble has been in the NFL for 19 years, starting out with the Steelers for two years then moving to the Redskins. He has been an area scout, before being promoted to Assistant Director of College Scouting in 2017. Now he will continue to work under Kyle Smith and will oversee the organization’s evaluation of collegiate talent and manage scouting efforts at both the area and national levels.
The Redskins have not hired a General Manager or Team President since Bruce Allen was fired. That reportedly won't happen until after the draft, if it happens at all. Kyle Smith is the highest ranking person in the Redskins front office, and he will work hand in hand with new Head Coach Ron Rivera.
