The Daily Twitter will be posted at the beginning of every day (at midnight in Washington, DC). The goal is to give readers a handy spot to check the Redskins beat writers & bloggers, and national sports journalists to keep up on the latest news about the Redskins, the NFL, and sports in general, along with a smattering of other things.

Redskins twitter feed:
The Redskins blew a 17-point lead and looked terrible in the second half in a 32-27 season-opening loss to the Eagles. Both sides of the ball played terrific in the opening two quarters; they both looked bad in the second -- the final touchdown occurred... https://t.co/BiiOCo0Iyy

#WASvsPHI FINAL:
— Ryan Fowler (@FowlerRyan1) September 8, 2019
Eagles 32, Redskins 27
Redskins next game will be the home opener against the Dallas Cowboys next week.
Keenum: 30/45 380 yds, 3 TD
McLaurin: 5 rec, 125 yds, 1 TD
Guice: 10 carries, 18 yds
Jay Gruden to the podium after the loss.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) September 8, 2019
Jon Allen has a knee sprain and is week-to-week. Couldn’t have returned. Too risky.
Rapid #Redskins reactions:
— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) September 8, 2019
1) McLaurin was studly. 5/125/TD
2) Keenum was a worthy starter. 380/3TD
3) Losing Jon Allen was a back-breaker. Yielded 18/124 rushing from RB's.
4) Dug Cole Holcomb's game
5) WR group surpassed expectations.
The #Redskins fail to score 30 points for the 14th straight game.
— Jake Russell (@_JakeRussell) September 8, 2019
They've scored 30 points just once in their last 23 games.
Last seven #Redskins season openers:
— Jake Russell (@_JakeRussell) September 8, 2019
2019: Loss vs. Eagles
2018: Win vs. Cardinals
2017: Loss vs. Eagles
2016: Loss vs. Steelers
2015: Loss vs. Dolphins
2014: Loss vs. Texans
2013: Loss vs. Eagles
Also, think on the bright side... at least we’re not:

Jags
Dolphins
Browns
Jets
Falcons
Who all had uglier losses today
I was just thinking that TWO Ereck Flowers holding calls on the same and last drive of the game was EXACTLY what they needed, for the icing on a stinky cake. #NFL #Eagles.
— Chris Russell (@Russellmania621) September 8, 2019
11 penalties, 90 yards... Zero chance the Redskins can win any game with those numbers...
— John Keim (@john_keim) September 8, 2019
Title idea: "#Redskins offense disappears through wormhole in second half collapse"
— Riggo's Rag (@RiggosRag) September 8, 2019
First downs in the 2H with U4 to play: Eagles 16 Redskins 0.
— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) September 8, 2019
I know Jonathan Allen is out and that was a big turning point in the game, but the d-line has to be better. The defense as a whole has to make plays if the offense is struggling even if they are on the field a lot. On a positive, I’ve been impressed with LB Cole Holcomb.
— Lake Lewis Jr (@LakeLewis) September 8, 2019
The Redskins inability to generate any sustained drives this second half has put all the pressure on a defense that has completely worn out. It's exactly what happened to this team the second half of last season after injuries to Smith and McCoy
— Les Carpenter (@Lescarpenter) September 8, 2019
That's 62 yards fewer than a certain touchdown run that happened here last time.
— michael phillips (@michaelpRTD) September 8, 2019
I don’t know how many 3rd & longs Philly has converted but it’s an absurd amount
— Hogs Haven (@HogsHaven) September 8, 2019
Look - the easy thing to do is yell and scream about a lack of adjustments.
— Chris Russell (@Russellmania621) September 8, 2019
NOBODY should ever think the #Redskins staff is better than the #Eagles staff. It's not even close, BUT ...
Penalties on OL, coverage busts, wide-open overthrows & bad tackling have killed #Skins in 2H
#Redskins players of the game after crushing 32-27 loss to Eagles:
— Russell (@Russell_ST21) September 8, 2019
Offense: WR Terry McLaurin
5 rec 125 yds 1 TD
Defense: LB Cole Holcomb
8 tackles
Not the final score the team was hoping for, but on to Dallas.
Gruden time.
— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) September 8, 2019
On Peterson. Said it was a tough decision, but with the threat of Sproles on punt returns he wanted more help on teams.
Gruden says Keenum was efficient: “I thought he played an excellent game.”
— Matthew Paras (@Matthew_Paras) September 8, 2019
Jay Gruden completely drives a hammer thru just about any chance Adrian Peterson will play soon. Had heard this was the thinking. This pretty much backs it up. Wow. https://t.co/rYUm8BJP5L
— Chris Russell (@Russellmania621) September 8, 2019
Chris Thompson said it would be hard to get all 3 RBs touches if Peterson had been active. But he also said:
— John Keim (@john_keim) September 8, 2019
“Yeah it’s weird. We want him out there with us. We know what type of impact he makes. We know the fear he puts still in defenses when he’s out there on the field."
Observations are up:
— michael phillips (@michaelpRTD) September 8, 2019
Morgan Moses, Donald Penn and Ereck Flowers each had two penalties. Moses led the league last year - he’s getting frustrated. https://t.co/OfLPGeJWfI pic.twitter.com/6xbtRK99ej
I like Morgan Moses, but he led the NFL in penalties last year, committed two more today, and then said: "I don't want to pinpoint anything, but the referees have got something out for us." The excuse-making starts earlier every year.
— Burgundy Blog (@BurgundyBlog) September 8, 2019
Life will test your faith in ways you cant understand, but as long as God is first in your life you will prevail. Skins will bounce back and so will I. HTTR till I die!
— Jonathan Allen (@jonallen93_) September 8, 2019
Case Keenum had 380 yards and 3 Touchdowns. Can't blame him for the loss. He also bought a lot of time when pressure ensued. #Redskins
— George Carmi (@Gcarmi21) September 8, 2019
Big takeaway: The Redskins' defense needs to be a lot more sound and impactful if this team is going to even think about having a good year. They were plagued, once again, by some communication mishaps that led to big touchdowns -- just like last... https://t.co/rqeHM38rSL
— John Keim (@john_keim) September 8, 2019
Also Doug Pedersen is bold.
— Mark Phillips (@RedskinsReview) September 8, 2019
Going for it on 4th and 1 on the 1st drive of the 3rd quarter. If he decides to punt there it is a completely different game. Going for two with a 7 point lead
Jay would never#Redskins #HTTR
Huge day for rookie pass catches all over the league.

Hollywood, McLaurin, Metcalf, and now Hockenson have all been brilliant

Oh what the hell, Robert Griffin III in for Lamar Jackson, he’s 2-2, 14 yards and TD. Ravens lead the Miami olphins 58-10.

Jamison Crowder just became the first WR in NFL history to have 14 or more catches and *not* hit the 100-yard mark.
