Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed has returned for the first time since entering the concussion protocol after a dirty helmet-to-helmet hit from Atlanta Falcons safety Keanu Neal on August 22nd. Neal was finally fined $28,075 for the hit 3 days ago.
The Redskins only kept 3 tight ends on the roster at final cutdowns which gave people hope that Reed would be available Week 1 when Washington travels to Philadelphia to face the Eagles. Fortunately, J.P. Holtz was signed to the practice squad, and would likely be signed to the 53-man roster if Reed isn’t available.
Reed has to practice in order to be cleared from the NFL’s concussion protocol. He is one step closer to getting back on the field after a healthy offseason where he looked like the best player on the offense.

There is a very large, athletic human wearing #86 at #Redskisn practice. I do believe that’s Jordan Reed pic.twitter.com/ffwoDI7um2
