The Redskins lost again and drop to 0-4 for the season and 0-3 in the division. The season is essentially over. Gruden used the injury excuse for pulling Case Keenum for Dwayne Haskins Jr., saying it looked like his foot was bothering him. He would not commit to a starting QB for next week’s home game against the Patriots.

QB change:
Jay Gruden: "Case has a pretty good injury on his foot ... today in the game, he missed some throws he normally would make, and thought Dwayne might give us a spark ... In the second half, we were pretty much inept in all phases."

Jay Gruden to the podium after the #Redskins loss to the #Giants:
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) September 29, 2019
He says he went to Haskins because Keenum’s performance was not good. It might’ve been related to his foot. Regardless, Jay thought Dwayne could give them a spark. Doesn’t mean anything for next week.

Gruden on Haskins, when probed further about next week's game:
— Chad Ryan (@ChadwikoRCC) September 29, 2019
"It's my job to figure out who gives us the best chance to win against New England".
Doesn't sound like it's going to be Haskins, if Case is healthy or Colt is available.#Redskins

Redskins coach Jay Gruden said he's not sure what he'll do at quarterback next week. He said he won't start Dwayne Haskins just because of his draft status. "You're not handed the keys because of where you're drafted. You have to earn the right," Gruden... https://t.co/IpBl52jCiA

Giants penalty/3rd down conversion:
Jay Gruden on the early-game penalty he accepted that put the #Giants into 3rd and 17:
— Chad Ryan (@ChadwikoRCC) September 29, 2019
"There was about a 6 percent chance they convert that..."#Redskins
On the early call to decline the penalty:
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) September 29, 2019
“I thought there was a better chance to convert a 46 yard FG than a 3rd and 17.”
Playcalling:
Gruden: “My playcalling isn’t good enough.”

0-4:
When asked for an explanation on why the #Redskins are 0-4, Jay Gruden listed the names of starters out injured, then said the players playing weren't executing, then said he himself was calling a "crappy game".
— Chad Ryan (@ChadwikoRCC) September 29, 2019
"Reality has set in." #Redskins
