The Redskins made several moves since their loss to the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football, but none of them involved coaches. Yesterday center Casey Dunn was waived from injured reserve and defensive tackle T.Y. McGill was released. Jonathan Allen made his return after one week off from an MCL sprain, making McGill expendable.
The corresponding roster move was announced today. The Redskins signed TE Jerome Cunningham. Jordan Reed is still out while he tries to return from a concussion from a dirty hit by Falcons safety Keanu Neal in the preseason. Cunningham was an undrafted free agent signed by the New York Giants in 2013. He played 9 games for the Giants in 2015, starting 3 of them. He was also with the Detroit Lions for 3 games last season. This is about as uninspiring as a signing can get.
