Redskins players and coaches held Day 8 of training camp in Richmond, VA yesterday. Jay Gruden spoke to the media, and gave plenty of updates. Day 9 of practices starts today at 9:45am, and ends with a walkthrough at 4:45pm.
There will be updates on position battles, injuries, pics/videos, quotes, and more from training camp. Check in throughout the day to get all the latest updates on Redskins training camp here.
Every practice I watch him, I’m thinking they need to sneak him on there. He’s enjoyed a great camp so far. Sure handed. Uses his body and frame really well to help his QB out. I’m actually struggling to think of if he’s dropped anything. He’s caught every pass in red zone so far https://t.co/2dq1jk6mJy

Never been dunked on or run over by a football player, but last Sunday my streak was threatened TJ Rahming and Jimmy Moreland with a nice rep

Looks like #Redskins are going with a no pads practice after some clanging and banging on Fan Appreciation Day. Just lids.
— Paul Conner (@P_ConnerJr) August 4, 2019
Morgan Moses not practicing. Probably a regular day off. Working out w Montez Sweat on side field
— JP Finlay (@JPFinlayNBCS) August 4, 2019
Adrian Peterson is in uniform but doesn’t have his helmet on. Might be a day off for him
— Matthew Paras (@Matthew_Paras) August 4, 2019
Just watch Sweat run through some agility drills. Looked quick.

Physical rep between Moreland and Richardson. pic.twitter.com/nU0wiPPPRP
— Kyle Stackpole (@kylefstackpole) August 4, 2019
Brian Quick just made an ASTOUNDING one handed grab in the end zone. Climbed the ladder.
— Paul Conner (@P_ConnerJr) August 4, 2019
Ray Horton is stressing two things all camp; making contact within 5 yards and seeing the ball. Two things Redskins DBs have struggled with in years past.
— Kennedy Paynter (@Kennedy_Paynter) August 4, 2019
Jeremy Reaves had a great pass break up in the end zone working on Cam Sims. But he was upset he didn’t get the pick. Jimmy Moreland talked to him. Reaves did pushups when he got back in the line #HTTR

McLaurin completely shakes the DB, but an errant throw from Haskins results in an incompletion. pic.twitter.com/j8Xw4W7hOR

Some 1-on-1 action. Moreland with a good rep on Richardson to keep him in front, but a great catch by Paul. pic.twitter.com/L9ts1lduPw
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) August 4, 2019
Montae late getting to the sideline, reprimanded multiple times by Gruden...”Gotta break Montae!!” pic.twitter.com/VKA7Z1UBTE
— Kennedy Paynter (@Kennedy_Paynter) August 4, 2019
— Both Vernon Davis and Jordan Reed beat Landon Collins on go routes.
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) August 4, 2019
— Kelvin Harmon made a tough grab with Josh Norman in tight coverage
— Montae Nicholson has two pass breakups in 1-on-1s
— Steven Sims had several DBs lost in the sauce. Got them all turned around #HTTR
The rare Haskins and McLaurin not on the same page rep. pic.twitter.com/eYxjrGjnfY
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) August 4, 2019
Without Morgan Moses practicing, Timon Parris is taking first team reps at right tackle. Geron Christian staying at left.
— Matthew Paras (@Matthew_Paras) August 4, 2019
Montae Nicholson definitely would’ve had the sack on the safety blitz, but Colt McCoy let it fly for Terry McLaurin. Jimmy Moreland got turned around and ran into the receiver. Refs are on deck and called PI #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) August 4, 2019
Byron Marshall with a smooth cut and run to the right side of the line. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, because Samaje Perine did essentially the same thing. Jay Gruden could be heard yelling, “Way to hit it, Samaje!” #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) August 4, 2019
Cassanova McKinzy with a nice rush around the end, but Haskins gets the ball off and finds Jordan Reed in space. Nice throw, though he might have been sacked before that.
— Matthew Paras (@Matthew_Paras) August 4, 2019
Jordan Reed still having a strong camp. Shaking guys on a daily basis.
— John Keim (@john_keim) August 4, 2019
Jordan Reed absolutely just broke JoJo McIntosh off. Kid’s probably literally never seen an out route run like that. He created about 12 yards of separation with a double stick and was WIDE open.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) August 4, 2019
No matter how far the pass goes for, Dwayne Haskins always makes a point to dap up his receivers following a catch. Jordan Reed got his last pass in the drill and took it 30-some yards down the field. Here comes Haskins jogging down to meet him. Dapped up Jehu Chesson too #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) August 4, 2019
Jimmy Moreland, Trey Quinn, TJ Rahming and Steven Sims taking PR duty #HTTR

Reed in 1-1s vs Collins. pic.twitter.com/O4qobYgiFp
— John Keim (@john_keim) August 4, 2019
Jimmy Moreland playing outside as team runs through 7-on-7 drill. To that point, I haven’t seen Quinton Dunbar out here today. Could be like Morgan Moses and a possible veterans day off #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) August 4, 2019
Or Greg Stroman. #redskins https://t.co/FrycLkIlUE
— Kareem Copeland (@kareemcopeland) August 4, 2019
Paul Richardson would’ve gotten popped in a real game, but he goes up for a Case Keenum throw in the middle of a group of defenders and right in front of Landon Collins #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) August 4, 2019
Next play, Paul Richardson with a brilliant double move on Josh Norman. Left Norman stuck, and then Case Keenum delivered a pretty ball to a wide open Richardson #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) August 4, 2019
Jon Bostic with solid coverage and good PBU defending Jordan Reed running up the middle. Ball went right over Landon Collins reach #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) August 4, 2019
Samaje Perine came into camp lighter, and its readily apparent with how fast he’s hitting holes and then when he turns up field and you see he separation as he gets up to speed #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) August 4, 2019
And then there’s Byron Marshall, who has looked exceptional this camp. One cut and he’s gone, once again running to the right side #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) August 4, 2019
Jordan Brailford back for his second day of camp, did a great job recognizing that Dwayne Haskins faked the handoff for a QB keeper and stayed home to make the easy tag #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) August 4, 2019
Wes Martin has subbed in at LG to take some reps with the 1s. #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) August 4, 2019
Cassanova McKinzy with a swim move the drowned god (GoT reference) would appreciate to get the sack on Colt McCoy #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) August 4, 2019
Deion Harris breaking up Colt McCoy’s pass to Jehu Chesson over the middle. Harris is having his best day of camp so far #HTTR

McCoy to Quinn in two minute drill pic.twitter.com/su8qjfFoEZ
— Kennedy Paynter (@Kennedy_Paynter) August 4, 2019
McCoy. Gun. Throws it down seam and Landon Collins makes a circus pass break up, a circus bobble, and a circus interception returned to the house!
— Paul Conner (@P_ConnerJr) August 4, 2019
Terry McLaurin with a spectacular, leaning catch along the sideline for Case Keenum. Refs say both feet are in, the offense continues to move #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) August 4, 2019
BJ Blunt with an end zone interception off Case Keenum. He jumped the route and grabbed it easily
— Matthew Paras (@Matthew_Paras) August 4, 2019
Dominique Rodgers-Cromarties put the speed on and laid out to break up Dwayne Haskins pass to Kelvin Harmon on the sideline #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) August 4, 2019
TJ Rahming with a leaping grab in front of Deion Harris and then had the mind to get out of bounds to stop the clock. #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) August 4, 2019
I’m in a tent about 10/15 yards from the back of the end zone. Haskins just threw a pass into the tent.
— JP Finlay (@JPFinlayNBCS) August 4, 2019
The Redskins have used Ross Pierschbacher as a guard the last few days. He’s been working with the third team as a guard while Zac Kerin is at center. The redskins want inside guys to play all three spots
— Matthew Paras (@Matthew_Paras) August 4, 2019
Many players staying back to work after practice today. Norman & another DB on front field. Woodrum, Keenum throwing routes to Chesson on backfield. Doctson, Kidsy, Craig Reynolds and Brailford running sprints. Haskins throwing routes to Harmon. McKinzy working w pass rush dummy
— Paul Conner (@P_ConnerJr) August 4, 2019
And your last guys on the field, again, Kelvin Harmon and Josh Norman #HTTR
