The final week of preseason caps off for the Redskins with a Baltimore Ravens match-up. On this episode of Rile’d Up, Tiffany caught up with the DMV native Mark Gray, to discuss the deceptive realities of NFL preseason and a budding Redskins defense.

Gray has spent the last 30 years in sports radio and multimedia journalism, has served as an NBA Correspondent for The Sporting News, general sports correspondent for The Atlanta Journal and Constitution, sports editor of The Atlanta Daily World, and sports columnist for The Atlanta Tribune. In 1997, Gray was honored by the Atlanta Association of Black Journalists for producing “The Outstanding Feature Story in Print”. Formerly, Gray hosted The SportsGroove on WOL-AM in D.C. and WOLB-AM Baltimore. Currently he’s a host at CBS Radio’s WJFK-FM (106.7 The Fan) and hosts a weekly internet talk show TSL Sports Talk on Shadow League Radio.

All of that is to say: Mark’s got some real street cred around these parts and can faithfully speak to the glory days of Redskins football.

As a tried and true veteran of the region, he has some thoughts for how Dan Snyder to turn things around before what has been a historically fiercely loyal fan base sells their stock in the ailing team.

Like many fans, Gray has found it hard to endure the recent Redskin slump, and above all, finds Cowboys week quite intolerable. The Redskins will take on the Eagles in the first regular-season matchup, and he is certain Haskins will not be at the helm, nor should he be at the helm throughout the majority of the season.

Although Gray sees promise in recent draft selections on the defensive side, he can’t ignore the glaring offensive gaps at wide receiver, tightened, and on the offensive line. That said, tune in to see what our expert guest thinks the end result could be this season for the ‘Skins as they get ready for their final exhibition match before the games really start to count.
