The biggest story last night (besides Jordan Reed’s latest concussion) was the return of RB Derrius Guice to the field. Guice’s rookie season ended during his first preseason game last year when he tore his ACL against the Patriots. He had knee surgery, but also had multiple setbacks and infections during the recovery process.
Guice was a beloved player in Redskins Nation after the draft, and his injury was a rough one so early in his career. His injury led to the Redskins signing of Adrian Peterson, who is now someone Guice can learn from as the two lead the rushing attack this year.
How did Guice look last night? He was quick, explosive, and looked confident in his knee and his overall game. Guice was throwing stiffarms at defenders, rushing through tackles, and catching passes out of the backfield. His official stat line was 11 carries for 44 yards, and his longest run was 12 yards. He added 1 catch for 4 yards to his total for the Redskins 17-9 win over the Falcons.
How excited are you for Derrius Guice in 2019?

Great to see Guice back on the field again for the #Redskins. First offensive play is a hand off to him and he cuts it back for 7 yards pic.twitter.com/kNgX9l4IKI
