Jay Gruden talked about the Redskins 19-7 win over the Atlanta Falcons. The big stories of the night were Derrius Guice's return to the field, and Jordan Reed leaving the game after a big helmet to helmet hit. Reed is now in the concussion protocol.

Gruden said he was impressed with Guice. Would’ve loved to see him get into the open field and show his speed, but he like the physicality and everything else he saw.— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) August 23, 2019

Guice: “You tend to take things for granted. When football was taken away from me, I felt like I was lost...it was kinda like a slap in the face happening in the first game. I feel like it was a sign from God to slow down...we always take things for granted. It matured me a lot.”— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) August 23, 2019

Derrius Guice said he found out he was cleared to play last week. He thought he was playing Week 1 of the preseason, and it wasn’t until just before the game that he found out from the team doctor he actually hadn’t been cleared.
