The Daily Twitter will be posted at the beginning of every day (at midnight in Washington, DC). The goal is to give readers a handy spot to check the Redskins beat writers & bloggers, and national sports journalists to keep up on the latest news about the Redskins, the NFL, and sports in general, along with a smattering of other things.

If a coach challenges OPI or DPI and the alleged contact happened away the various available TV cameras, should the coach have his red flag and his time out restored?
— ProFootballTalk (@ProFootballTalk) August 16, 2019
Has a special teams coordinator been fired before the season starts before? Just curious.
— Robbie Duncan (@RobbieDuncanOL) August 16, 2019
Says Trent Williams almost 100% not coming back and Redskins will likely get a first round pick for him. "It's over, in my opinion".

If Case Keenum is your starter - and it sure looks like he is - I think you have to give him the first half in preseason game 3. That said, I'd keep the starters out there for 2 drives with Dwayne Haskins in the 3rd quarter. Let him run with the 1's a bit. #Redskins
— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) August 16, 2019
Liking Case Keenums development in this offense. He says it's his favorite he's been in (could be Homer speak) but his reads are becoming quicker.
— Paul Conner (@P_ConnerJr) August 16, 2019
Thoughts on game last night:
— Hogs Haven (@HogsHaven) August 16, 2019
-Both QBs not afraid to take lots of shots downfield
-Defense can be legit unit
-O line availability and performance will make or break this season
-Depth is poor across the roster
Cooley on Haskins: “He’s gonna start by Week 3”

Joe Mixon just dribbled Josh Norman like he was a basketball pic.twitter.com/5rx5plyEVk
— NFL Memes (@NFL_Memes) August 16, 2019
This was the flag on Josh Norman. Pretty clear to see how Norman was looking to make a play on the ball, not land a hit pic.twitter.com/75Qjupv3Wx
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) August 15, 2019
Wow, Josh Norman was just falling and accidentally hit the receiver with his helmet. Norman understandably upset getting called for the unsportsmanlike when all he was doing was tripping to the turf #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) August 15, 2019
Ridiculously stupid flag on Allen for taking Bernard down late.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) August 15, 2019
The flag on the next play though against Norman is even dumber. He was going for the ball and winds up getting called for lowering his helmet. Then another one for arguing it.
Not a great start for the zebras.
Watching a replay. Not sure what Josh Norman could have done on his “initiating contact” to the head Penalty. Looks like he’s going after the ball on a low throw and happens to collide with the receiver. Will be a controversial penalty at times this year; book it.
— John Keim (@john_keim) August 16, 2019
It's not the preseason without a lot of flags. Jonathan Allen gets called for unnecessary roughness for... not stopping after getting wrapped up? Sure.
— Matthew Paras (@Matthew_Paras) August 15, 2019
We are all DOOMED!!
— Warren Sharp (@SharpFootball) August 16, 2019
1. Possibly the worst offensive pass interference call in history.
2. Theismann‘s reaction is
“WHAT???!!!”
3. Jay Gruden challenges it.
4. The call was upheld and the ruling on the field stands (??) pic.twitter.com/ZAuU5Ccuwf
In #CINvsWAS, the on-field officials called OPI for a push off by WAS 13 at the 50-yard line, well before he jumped to catch the ball. There was no clear & obvious visual evidence from the available broadcast video that the ruling was incorrect, so the on-field ruling stands. pic.twitter.com/EhdAqFOc9Q
— NFL Officiating (@NFLOfficiating) August 16, 2019
Ok so in the non-tv copy Harmon called for pushing off before he even jumps. https://t.co/5UL4oe1hjc
— John Keim (@john_keim) August 16, 2019
Watching the game back and I still just can’t make any sense if the call against Harmon. It’s somehow worse than I remember. What an abject disaster.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) August 16, 2019
If you have to look at it multiple times and in slow motion and squint and look at it again it’s not clear and obvious.

Was told head official needs green light to speak to me from Riveron and it wasn’t granted. Said NY makes that decisions based on experience the white hat. NY thinks it’s better to protect officials, but what’s lost is what’s happening in the head of refs on the field https://t.co/7r4QVQQNnh
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) August 16, 2019
Rhiannon was the pool reporter who got to interview the refs last night. If the NFL really told her she couldn’t talk to them, that’s an enormous red flag to me and a complete lack of accountability in one of the most important parts of the game. https://t.co/Z3PLaklvik

Last night felt liked the NFL offices/officials were thumbing their noses up at the #Redskins. There is history there trust me on that.

— Brian Baldinger (@BaldyNFL) August 16, 2019
Moreland making a lot of tackles this drive. Both a good and a bad thing. He's got great closing speed and physicality to go with his ball skills. But ideally, they wouldn't be driving down the field with this kind of consistency.
— Riggo's Rag (@RiggosRag) August 16, 2019
Kelvin Harmon just made an ABSURD catch. pic.twitter.com/lU4tYcYsZ8
— Jordan Dajani (@JordanDajani) August 16, 2019
Point of the article is about the amount of confusion among the players regarding what they did to warrant calls or non-calls initially. It wasn't about who was guilty or not. More than anything, both sides agreed that they just want consistency and more clarity https://t.co/K31r7892Wd
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) August 16, 2019
Regarding the *questionable* OPI penalty in last night’s #Redskins-#Bengals game, here’s Al Riveron on why it wasn’t overturned via pool report with @InstantRHIplay. Any concerns about Jimmy Moreland not being able to tackle should be just about over by now.
— Matthew Paras (@Matthew_Paras) August 16, 2019
Good news: Jimmy Moreland can really tackle.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) August 16, 2019
Bad news: we're seeing a lot of Jimmy Moreland tackles. It's never good when your corners are tackling a lot.
