I asked @MontaeNicholson what defines success for him. His answer was mature beyond his years and a true sign of the growth he's experienced in the last year.

#Redskins just ran speed option left with McCoy and Peterson. Hmmm...
— Paul Conner (@P_ConnerJr) July 28, 2019
Jordan Reed with a presumed scheduled off day. He and some of the other guys coming off injuries/surgeries will have days off scattered throughout camp. Looks like Jordan’s getting one today.

Look closely at the far side of the video. This is what Montae Nicholsonwas telling me when he said Ray Horton was sending him and Landon Collins on more safety blitzes. He gets running start and attacks the left side of the line #HTTR pic.twitter.com/8WnOJW7ApR

QBs in order getting reps: McCoy, Keenum, Haskins.

Jay Gruden just yelled "ZERO ZERO ZERO!" as he rushed from safety spot. Zero means cover Zero (aka no safety deep) so McCoy launches a back corner fade for completion.

Looks like rookie Cole Holcomb is getting some first team reps at ILB today next to Shaun Dion Hamilton. #redskins
— Kareem Copeland (@kareemcopeland) July 28, 2019
Haskins just made his best play of camp. Evaded some pressure, went through his reads, found Cam Sims streaming away from him and dropped it in. Pretty ball.
— JP Finlay (@JPFinlayNBCS) July 28, 2019
Gorgeous pass from Dwayne Haskins to a wide open Paul Richardson. Richardson did have to climb the ladder, but he got the first foot in and tapped the second one acrobatically before hitting out of bounds #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) July 28, 2019
FWIW, Haskins looked kindaaaa fast on a QB run to the right. #SkinsCamp
— Kyle Stackpole (@kylefstackpole) July 28, 2019
Most impressive 11v11 session from Haskins I’ve seen. Even correctly audibles on the last snap, handles the line of scrimmage and gets a quick gainer on the outside to Cam Sims.
— JP Finlay (@JPFinlayNBCS) July 28, 2019
Dwayne Haskins vision when running is improving day to day. Offense ran an option pitch, and Haskins tucked it, made a nice little cut and got up field. Very good stuff #HTTR

Geron Christian is out here in Pads today. Gruden said the plan was to have him back tuesday. He’s clearly limited though. Don’t think he got any snaps in team period. #redskins
— Kareem Copeland (@kareemcopeland) July 28, 2019
Settle just worked Pierschbacher on 1-on-1 drills. Ripped past him before the rookie could react. #SkinsCamp
— Kyle Stackpole (@kylefstackpole) July 28, 2019
Wes Martin just beat Austin Maloata in his 1-on-1. Pushed him down and made him touch the earth. After play finished Maloata pushed Martin in the chest and Martin responded with his hands up like, “What?” #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) July 28, 2019
Good gracious Jon Allen just killed Tyler Catalina with a swim move. #Redskins
— Kareem Copeland (@kareemcopeland) July 28, 2019
I’m telling you all my favorite line matchup is Brandon Scherff and Da’Ron Payne. This time Payne tried to use a spin to beat Scherff inside. Who did Payne meet on the other side of that? Scherff like it’s nice to see you again. Anticipated the whole way through #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) July 28, 2019
Cassanova McKinzy had a really nice session against the offensive linemen, typically getting to the QB with speed and in one case used his hands exceptionally well to throw off the tackle #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) July 28, 2019
Jon Allen blows right through guard Wes Martin in first rep of 11-on-11 for would what have resulted in an easy sack. #SkinsCamp
— Ryan Fowler (@FowlerRyan1) July 28, 2019
Da’Ron Payne with good hands at the line batting down Colt McCoy’s pass. Montez Sweat was in coverage in the flat, so I could see that potentially being a pick the other way if Payne didn’t knock it down #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) July 28, 2019
Other takeaways from O-line, D-line battles:
— Kyle Stackpole (@kylefstackpole) July 28, 2019
- Scherff and Moses were very sturdy.
- Martin had a few good reps.
- Flowers held his own.
- Allen had the best defensive rep. Swam past the lineman with zero issues.
McKinzy showed blazing speed around the edge.
Cole Holcomb is getting first and second team reps because of it. https://t.co/pgLyqQWWhE
— Matthew Paras (@Matthew_Paras) July 28, 2019
Another big play from Cam Sims. Having an impressive camp.
— JP Finlay (@JPFinlayNBCS) July 28, 2019
Dwayne Haskins dropped a beaut to Matt Flanagan just over the head of Montae Nicholson, and with Landon Collins ready to lay the wood. On next play, Haskins finds a wide open Donald Parham running long along the sideline #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) July 28, 2019
Haskins just completed his best period of training camp. Had four touchdown passes in a red zone period, including a dime of a fade ball to Trey Quinn over an outstretched Norman.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) July 28, 2019
This has been his best day so far. Good day for all three QB’s.
Trey Quinn gronk spike gets huge reaction
— Paul Conner (@P_ConnerJr) July 28, 2019
Others have noted Haskins is having a good day. Far more important to me - he’s showing a lot more of his personality today. Celebrating and dancing with receivers after good throws. Comfort level increasing?
— michael phillips (@michaelpRTD) July 28, 2019
Something I’ve noticed, the coaches have used Kelvin Harmon on a number of motions, and drags. His last TD, he started essentially out of the TE position, initiated a block, released and then dragged before Dwayne Haskins found him. Harmon broke an arm tackle #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) July 28, 2019
Keenum up. Singleback. First play, launches bomb to Robert Davis who raises up with good coverage and plucks the ball in the end zone. Robert Davis then launches the ball over the field goal posts in celebration. Good crowd reaction.
— Paul Conner (@P_ConnerJr) July 28, 2019
Holy hell, Case Keenum just lofted the ball up to Robert Davis running to the corner of the end zone, and Davis just Moss’d Adonis Alexander for the TD. Got his feet in and as soon as he came down threw the ball up in celebration. Cam Sims sprinted over to congratulate him #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) July 28, 2019
Bruh, Case Keenum running for his life, throws a low ball to Kelvin Harmon in the end zone, so no defender could get to it, and Harmon laid out beautiful for it. Brought the pass into his body and maintained control. Jimmy Moreland in coverage #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) July 28, 2019
Intensity Ramps up as go live tackling for 3 plays inside the 5. Jim Tomsula: “all about attitude... do you got the balls to do it”. Good pops. Looked like on third play Reynolds stretches over. I think.
— John Keim (@john_keim) July 28, 2019
Defense is hot. Rob Ryan yelling at his guys “Hit them!” Last rep, Jay Gruden yelling, “There’s no secret what’s coming next.” Offense goes goal line run to Craig Reynolds, Deion Harris hits him hard, Reynolds keeps legs going, extends ball over line for TD #HTTR
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) July 28, 2019
Robert Davis said his injury was the same as Teddy Bridgewater’s and he doubted whether he’d ever play again. He’s very relieved to be out here and put together a really nice day. Said he only thinks about his knee when we bring it up. So maybe we should stop bringing it up
