The headlins to start Redskins training camp were Ereck Flowers starting at LT. This was enough to scare any fan, Redskins QB, and hopefully Redskins coaches/executives.
The Trent Williams holdout has officially entered its 2nd day. The Redskins tackle depth is thin and their projected top backup Geron Christian Sr. is returning from MCL surgery and didn't practice today.
Sources: Free agent LT Donald Penn is heading to Richmond to meet with the #Redskins about a possible signing. They have a big need with Trent Williams’ holdout and up-in-the-air status, and the former Raiders starter may fill it.

There was speculation about whether the Redskins would sign or trade for a tackle. We now know they are bringing in 36 year old veteran tackle Donald Penn. He last played for the other Gruden with the Oakland Raiders. He was released in March after they signed Trent Brown.
The Redskins actually tried to sign him back in March, 2014 before he went to Oakland. Washington ended up drafting Morgan Moses two months later.

He is coming in to workout, but he’s not the only one. There will be other veterans as well as some young guys.
Penn signing will depend on how he looks and how much he costs. They’ll sign someone. Might just be a body. Might be him or another vet.
