On this edition of the Pig Pen Podcast with Denton Day...
A massive Trent Williams-sized cloud loomed over the Redskins as the team reported for training camp. Other than that, however, there seems to be a lot of optimism in Richmond as they players take the field for day one of training camp.
I channeled my inner surgeon and dissected some of the important comments Jay Gruden made in his opening press conference. Gruden gave a good amount of insight to how the quarterback battle will be a triple-threat with a healthy Colt McCoy in the mix.
It’s also time to check out the panic-meter on the Trent Williams hold out. Don’t worry — I’m fully aware that it’s July and we’re fine. The panic-meter quickly turns into a rant about the Redskins lack of desire to pay offensive lineman.
The team made a move to get faster on defense by letting Mason Foster go. The timing sucked, but this defense could be really, really good.
