The Daily Twitter will be posted at the beginning of every day (at midnight in Washington, DC). The goal is to give readers a handy spot to check the Redskins beat writers & bloggers, and national sports journalists to keep up on the latest news about the Redskins, the NFL, and sports in general, along with a smattering of other things.

Doctson's 2020 option had a $10.2 million price tag, which would have represented a hefty raise for the 2016 first rounder. In 2018, he had 44 catches, 2 TDs and 532 yards - the 84th (tied) highest total in the league. https://t.co/rsh2omtexK
— Tarik El-Bashir (@Tarik_ElBashir) May 1, 2019
Since the fifth-year option was introduced in 2011, the Redskins have used it twice (Kerrigan and Scherff). RGIII’s was initially picked up but later rescinded.

Don’t know how well Kelvin Harmon will do. But Skins loved physical style. And his blocking routinely created extra yards for the RBs when to his side. Example: pic.twitter.com/LqeatH9w14
— John Keim (@john_keim) May 1, 2019
Was expected. But would imagine that X receiver spot is now up for grabs and if they give him a shot, I think McLaurin could win it https://t.co/R0y7EaIkJW
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) May 1, 2019
While he might not necessarily be the most athletic, Martin has good footwork, allowing him to mirror rushers. More on the #Redskins 4th round pick here: https://t.co/UggRsBcQ4X pic.twitter.com/cYBQxhPmVz

The guy trying to kick out Sweat gets no movement and Sweat is right there to meet the running back in the backfield. I've seen him do it every time it happens. He's obviously an explosive pass rusher but his run defense is just as impressive, imo.
— Robbie Duncan (@RobbieDuncanOL) May 1, 2019
True. He could definitely benefit from some more development as a pass rusher but his potential is through the roof in that department. And sometimes all you need is that fast 1st step which Sweat does have.
— Robbie Duncan (@RobbieDuncanOL) May 1, 2019
And some of that will come from scheme too. A lot of the time, they made him rush inside as part of a stunt/blitz. Didn’t get to see him just work a tackle on the edge a whole lot. Kinda negated his speed
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) May 1, 2019
Agreed, good coaching will take him a long way. If I could build a pass rusher, it would look like him

Bruce Allen on reports that Snyder targeted Haskins: "All of those great draft day stories are classic. [Snyder’s] son does go to the high school that Dwayne went to six years ago. His son’s only a sophomore at the school."
— Dan Steinberg (@dcsportsbog) May 1, 2019
Dwayne Haskins at the Combine: “Actually (Redskins owner Dan) Snyder’s son went to my high school (Bullis). So I’m pretty good friends with him. … So going back home to the Redskins would be a lot of fun.” https://t.co/UlY2IRaMJB

Tyler was given 68 his rookie year. He knew what that number meant to the fans & he respects & appreciates the meaning of the legacy of that number. He doesn’t take it lightly & tries to represent 68 the right way. Immediately watched as much Russ Grimm film as he could that day.

The #Raiders are bringing back RB Doug Martin, sources tell me and @wyche89. Martin ran got 723 yards with Oakland last year. Rejoins the team following the loss of Isaiah Crowell.

The 5 schools with the most draft value used on their players in 2019 are not too surprising, but the next 5 schools are not often top 10 schools (except for LSU, of course) https://t.co/rbjnzhIYmN pic.twitter.com/HYgEwIiVME

— Mike Jones (@ByMikeJones) May 1, 2019
Tough news for Crowell. Eagles could benefit from this development if the Raiders signed Jay Ajayi before May 8. Ajayi signing would help Philly’s comp pick formula. Raiders already signed too many players to receive comp picks. https://t.co/Rh1V9ObARw

Did you know, of the Linebackers that played 50% of the snaps across the league, only 9 of them didn't allow a touchdown in coverage. Nick Vigil was one of those 9 linebackers.
