The Redskins reportedly planned on having pre-draft visits with all the top QB prospects in this year's draft except for Kyler Murray. This week's planned visit with Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins completes that list. Washington is expected to get a young QB this year, and Haskins is one of the top 3 in this year's draft.
He was widely projected to be the 2nd QB off the board, with Murray going #1 overall to the Cardinals. The Redskins have shown interest in Haskins, with Head Coach Jay Gruden and Offensive Coordinator Kevin O'Connell attending Ohio State's pro day.
None of the top 3 QBs could be available when the Redskins pick at #15. There has been plenty of speculation about a potential trade up, but this isn't the QB class to be spending multiple picks on. Jay Gruden has said that Haskins might not be ready to play his first year. During that same interview at the Combine he said he would like his 1st round pick to contribute right away. These two statements don't make it sound like Haskins will be the Redskins pick, but it is lying season...
* I've had Haskins the 3rd QB off the board for several consecutive NFL mocks. https://t.co/geEHh0mYFM— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) April 7, 2019
* Said in video with @PeteHaileyNBCS that I can see Redskins bypassing Haskins if he's there at 15. https://t.co/nRxfgyQNz3 @NBCSRedskins https://t.co/TuiE2MjiEV
