Pre-draft workouts and visits continue this week. The Redskins reportedly had Sam Houston State WR Davion Davis running for them yesterday. His college career was cut short last season when he suffered an injury to his lower left leg against Southern Louisiana. He was shut down for the team's final two games of the season.
Sam Houston State WR Davion Davis is running for the #Redskins today. The Southland Conference’s all-time leader in TD receptions is coming off a season-ending leg injury, but is back to full strength and impressed #NFL scouts with his route running at last month’s Pro Day.— Josh Criswell (@joshccriswell) April 5, 2019
The Redskins desperately need to upgrade their WR corps, and will likely draft one or two this year. They will also be signing several WRs as UDFA like they do every year looking for a diamond in the rough.
Davis had his breakout season in 2017, earning multiple accolades for his performance. He had 78 receptions for 1206 yards and 17 TDs. Davis was the SLC Offensive Player of the Year.
