Officially Official:

The Redskins have reportedly signed QB Josh Woodrum, who was last seen in the Alliance of American Football with the Salt Lake Stallions. Woodrum(6’3”, 231 lbs) played at Liberty before joining the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent following the 2016 NFL draft. Woodrum never stuck with an NFL team, bouncing around after being waived by the Giants. He spent a short time with the Colts, Bears, Bills, Ravens, and Browns.

He was the 8th overall pick for the Stallions in their draft this year. He started 7 games in Salt Lake City, going 146 for 227(64.3% comp %) for 1,449 yards and 6 TDs with 8 INTs. The Redskins are looking for young arms at QB, and will likely draft or trade for one this year. Woodrum enters the picture as a potential camp arm.

Woodrum is the 4th former AAF player the Redskins have signed since the league suddenly closed down after 8 weeks of their inaugural season. They signed OLB Andrew Arkush and OG Salesi Uatefe, then added LB DeMarquis Gates. The Redskins, along with many aother teams, continue to look at the league’s castoffs in an attempt to find the next hidden gem.
