2019 NFL Mock Draft: Todd McShay keeps giving the Redskins a WR

Colt McCoy to Hollywood?

Todd McShay released his latest mock draft this morning, and his first one following the NFL Scouting Combine. Nothing has changed for the Redskins, despite the wave of rumors they have been involved in since his last mock a month ago.

The Redskins use the 15th overall pick to get potential game-breaking WR Maquise Brown from Oklahoma. The 5’9 3/8”, 166 receiver would be a big addition for Washington’s receiving corps, but doesn’t address the gaping hole that is currently at QB this season. Who throws the ball to Hollywood in 2019, and when will he return to the field after Lisfranc surgery? Colt McCoy? Josh Rosen? Teddy Bridgewater? A 2nd round pick? McShay doesn’t say, and that will be a big factor in who the team takes in the 1st round.

Marquise Brown, WR, Oklahoma

No change from my previous mock, as the speedy Brown heads to the nation’s capital. Washington will be looking for improvements in multiple areas, but adding a burner would open up this offense. Brown has good hands and can outrun just about anyone.

McShay has 3 QBs going in the first round of this mock, Kyler Murray to the Cardinals at #1 Dwayne Haskins to the Giants at #6, and Drew Lock to the Dolphins at #13. That leaves Josh Rosen on the board for the Redskins as the Cardinals will move on from him. That leaves Daniel Jones available at the top of the 2nd round, but the chance of him falling to the Redskins at the 46th pick is pretty slim.
