NFL Draft 2019: Redskins brass at Drew Lock's Pro Day, Jay Gruden took Will Grier to dinner

QB search is on

NCAA Football: Baylor at West Virginia Ben Queen-USA TODAY Sports

The Redskins are making the rounds with some of the top QBs in this year’s draft. They met with all of them at the Combine, and now are going back for more. The Redskins sent a scouting crew that included Bruce Allen to Ohio State’s Pro Day yesterday to check out Dwayne Haskins and others. Haskins has started to be linked to Washington as an option if they trade up to get their guy.

Today was Mizzou’s Pro Day, and the Redskins sent Bruce Allen again to get an up close look at QB Drew Lock. Washington’s crew met with, or will meet Lock today. Lock has been heavily linked to the Redskins, and also might require a trade up if they want to make sure he is available.

While Bruce was checking out Drew Lock, Jay Gruden was sent to West Virginia to scout QB Will Grier. The Mountaineers QB is projected as a 2nd round pick, and could allow Washington to go defense, or grab a playmaker on offense in the 1st round. Gruden had sushi for dinner with Grier last night.
