The Redskins are reportedly interested in OLB Brandon Copeland. The Redskins will be looking to both free agency and this year’s draft to find pass rushing help. Preston Smith left in free agency to sign with the Green Bay Packers. Pernell McPhee was signed for a year, and hasn’t been re-signed. Washington has Ryan Anderson who is better against the run, but could be pushed into a starting role if the team can’t find a better option.

Copeland was an undrafted free agent in 2013 who was signed by the Baltimore Ravens. He has bounced around the league since then, spending time with the Titans and Lions. He got the most playing time of his career last season with the New York Jets, starting 10 games and getting 34 tackles, 5 sacks, and 2 passes defended.

If the Redskins sign Copeland, he will be a depth/special teams signing. He played the most ST snaps of any Jets LB last season(328 snaps, 66.1%).
