NFL Free Agency: Redskins fail to trade LB Zach Brown, DT Stacy McGee, both have been released

No deal

NFL: Washington Redskins at Los Angeles Chargers Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

Officially Official: Brown and McGee have been released

The Redskins were reportedly try to trade ILBs Mason Foster and Zach Brown, and DL Stacy McGee when the NFL's legal tampering window opened on Monday. They were not expected to get a deal done for any of them, and it looks like they've failed to trade anyone. The moves save the Redskins ~$8 million on this year’s cap.

The Redskins received some interest in Zach Brown, specifically from the Raiders, but teams decided to wait for his release instead wasting a draft pick. The Redskins look to be keeping Mason Foster for now. Washington picked up Reuben Foster last year, and also drafted Shaun Dion Hamilton late. They were interested in Ravens LB C.J. Moseley, but he was definitely out of their price range.

It looks like Mason Foster, Vernon Davis, and Josh Norman are safe...for now.
