We're almost at the end of the season, and the train to IR is rolling full speed ahead. The Redskins placed their 23rd and 24th players on IR for the year today by shutting down safety Montae Nicholson and cornerback Fabian Moreau. This has been a bad trend for the team the last few years. In 2017 there were 23 players on IR, and they shut down 27 last season.
The Redskins have been signing and players off the street for the past few weeks as the injuries have added up. Josh Norman continues to be active and not played to keep him healthy for his eventual release in the offseason.
This week's new players both have spent time with the Redskins. Safety Kenny Ladler was with the team during the offseason in 2018, and had a lot of preseason hype. He was signed to the 53-man roster after starting the regular season on the practice squad. Ladler only lasted about a month before being released. He was picked up by the New York Giants for 3 games.
The Redskins also signed WR Jester Weah from the practice squad. With McLaurin out vs the Cowboys, Washington only had 5 healthy WRs on the roster.
Jester Weah, the nephew of soccer superstar and Liberian president George Weah, has been promoted to the Redskins active roster. Here’s a story I did on him earlier this year. https://t.co/6KxOZsbOFF
