Dwayne Haskins Jr. was taken to the podium after leaving today’s game with an ankle injury. This was the opposite ankle(left) from the one he injured a few weeks ago. He said that Redskins owner Dan Snyder cam down from the owner’s box to tell him not to return to the game. The Redskins immediately issued a statement to say that Snyder told him to follow the advice of team doctors. This was followed by a statement by the Redskins team doctor, Dr. Robin West, that Haskins wasn’t cleared to return.

Dwayne Haskins said he tried to go back in but that they would not let him. Said he got an X-ray and there was nothing wrong. MRI tomorrow.

First half:
Like he said last week, #Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins said what he did in the first half is how he expects to perform all the time. #Redskins

Asked Haskins if this is his best game as a pro. He said yes, but this is what he wants to be. This is what he expects to be. He was not satisfied or doesn’t feel like he’s made it.

“When I get hot, I get hot.”
Dan Snyder:
“Medical area” here referencing the training room in the locker room.

Also received an update via Redskins PR from Dan saying that he told Dwayne to listen to the doctor, who was telling him he couldn’t go back in. This wasn’t Snyder making a decision in any way.
A Redskins spokesperson said that owner Dan Snyder told Dwayne Haskins to listen to the medical advice from Dr. Robin West and her advice was Haskins should not go back in.

Statement forthcoming from Dr. Robin West for clarity as well but this sounds like it was Dwayne wanting to go back in and multiple people going “no” led by the team doctor and others backing her up.

Regardless of the quote clarification, the owner in the locker room area during the game is peculiar. That Snyder was apparently helping protect Haskins, while appropriate, isn't the main note here. When we talk about fixing issues, approach, culture, point to these moments.

#Redskins just released a statement from head team physician Robin West: "I evaluated Dwayne following his ankle injury and after reviewing the X-Rays and conducting a full examination, I did not clear him to return to game action."

I need to clarify something from my press conference. Dr. West advised me that I was done for this game. Dan Snyder who was in the locker room supporting me, told me I’ve got to listen to the Doctor. Looking forward to getting back healthy for Skins Nation. #HTTR

Added the injury is to his other ankle, not the one he hurt against Green Bay. https://t.co/Z7jzYzIocd
