The Redskins currently sit at number four in draft order for the 2020 NFL Draft. With two games left to play in the season, a lot can still change though.
The Redskins face the 3-11 New York Giants this Sunday, and finish with the 7-7 Cowboys. The Giants game will go a long way in determining draft order for both of these teams, with the winner likely dropping outside the top 5, and out of the Chase Young sweepstakes.
Regardless, the Redskins will be drafting in the top 10 come April, and there are plenty of very good prospects who will also fill positions of need in that range.
Below is a look at our teams needs, followed by my early Big Board based on Value vs. Need.
Team Needs:
Tier 1:
OT
TE
CB
WR
Tier 2:
S
EDGE
LB
Now, some of these needs will obviously be filled in free agency, but the draft should, and will, play a big part in the team’s future.
2020 Redskins Big Board:
Chase Young EDGE Ohio St. - 6’5” 265
Andrew Thomas OT Georgia - 6’5” 320
Jeff Okudah CB Ohio St - 6’1” 200
Jerry Jeudy WR Alabama - 6’1” 195
CeeDee Lamb WR Oklahoma - 6’2” 192
Tristan Wirfs OT Iowa - 6’5” 320
Kristian Fulton CB LSU - 6’0” 200
Isaiah Simmons LB Clemson - 6’4” 228
Grant Delpit S LSU - 6’3” 203
Laviska Shenault Jr. WR Colorado - 6’2” 220
As you can see, the draft is pretty stocked at our top positions of need - OT, CB and WR with TE being the only position in our top tier of needs that doesn’t have a true first round talent.
Regardless if we are picking number two or number nine, the Redskins will be in a position to fill a position of need with a tremendous value pick come April.
