Brandon Scherff:
Bill Callahan on Brandon Scherff - He’s a Redskin through and through and should be here his whole career. Hopefully.
— JP Finlay (@JPFinlayNBCS) December 18, 2019
“Hopeful that he is re-upped, and hopeful he gets the contract he desires.” And Bill Callahan said the labrum surgery will probably knock him out for OTAs, be back for training camp #HTTR

Bill Callahan says Brandon Scherff has a labrum injury (presumably torn). He’ll have surgery on Friday.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) December 18, 2019
Asked him about the possibility of him being done here and Callahan talked for almost 3 minutes about Scherff’s professionalism, work ethic and skill. Just loves him.
Brandon Scherff will have shoulder surgery on Friday per Bill Callahan. Was put on I-R yesterday. Free agent to be & a three-time Pro Bowler. #Redskins https://t.co/92ZD3DGeqL pic.twitter.com/2dOTVBD6RB

Callahan said he's hopeful Scherff returns next year. The right guard's contract ends this season. Certainly a franchise tag candidate if no LTD reached. Depending on Washington's offseason plans, of course.

Tress Way:
Callahan also extremely complimentary of Tress Way as he made his first Pro Bowl.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) December 18, 2019
Reveals Way has been named a captain for the rest of the season.
Callahan also called @Tress_Way a "guy's guy," which I'm sure Way will appreciate. #Redskins https://t.co/kRIjTjY4rG
— Kyle Stackpole (@kylefstackpole) December 18, 2019
Callahan had a ton of praise for Tress Way making the Pro Bowl. He noted how he changed the way he went about punting.

Dwayne Haskins Jr.:
Bill Callahan says Dwayne Haskins has made “light years” of progress since his first action vs NYG in Week 4. “His overall game is getting better every week.”
— JP Finlay (@JPFinlayNBCS) December 18, 2019
Callahan said @dh_simba7 has more of a command of the offense since his first bit of action against the Giants earlier this year. "He doesn't make the repetitive mistake." #Redskins #HTTR
— Zach Selby (@DarDarBinx61) December 18, 2019
Callahan said biggest difference now for Haskins - speed. Seeing defenses and getting rid of the ball
— JP Finlay (@JPFinlayNBCS) December 18, 2019
Terry McLaurin:
Callahan said an impressive thing about McLaurin is that "nothing phases him." Attacks every day with the same poise, professionalism and focus. #Redskins
— Kyle Stackpole (@kylefstackpole) December 18, 2019
Callahan on McLaurin: “He’s the same every day...NOTHING phases him...I can’t say enough about how he’s handled himself as a rookie in our league.”
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) December 18, 2019
Terry’s on the verge of breaking the franchise rookie receiving record.
Callahan said of Terry McLaurin “he’s got the It factor.” Says of TM closing in on 1,000 yards: “he never flinches. He’s the same guy every day. Nothing fazes him. He’s intensely focused.”

Best game?:
Dwayne Haskins at the podium. Asked if Eagles game was his best, Haskins said it was statistically. He felt like he had a good week of practice and it translated
— Matthew Paras (@Matthew_Paras) December 18, 2019
Dwayne Haskins to the podium in Ashburn. He says he thought he got through everything well on Sunday.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) December 18, 2019
Definitely his best game statistically and he thinks he put his best stuff on tape.
Adrian Peterson:
.@dh_simba7 on Adrian Peterson: "I've learned how to be a pro from him." #Redskins #HTTR
— Zach Selby (@DarDarBinx61) December 18, 2019
First game:
Haskins on his first Giants game: “I throw up watching that tape.”
— Matthew Paras (@Matthew_Paras) December 18, 2019
Haskins: "I feel watching that tape is not me and it wasn't me out there. You want to look at it and be like, 'That's what I messed up on' and move on from it. I don't mind watching it. I just prefer to watch something else."
— Stephen Whyno (@SWhyno) December 18, 2019
May I suggest Brooklyn Nine-Nine?
Dwayne Haskins at the mic. Wasn’t particularly interested in reliving his debut against the Giants. Said he’s a completely different player at this point. #redskins pic.twitter.com/VYI8G6ZPLs
— Kareem Copeland (@kareemcopeland) December 18, 2019
Calling plays:
Haskins says now that he’s not as concerned with calling plays, he’s been able to focus some finer things about the position. He’s able to process and get to check downs faster. Just a better general understanding of concepts.
