— JP Finlay (@JPFinlayNBCS) December 11, 2019
Interim coach Bill Callahan said he can't "heap enough accolades" on running back Adrian Peterson, who will resume the heavy lifting duties with Derrius Guice done for the year. "In every aspect he's a pro's pro," Callahan said of Peterson. He's rushed... https://t.co/e2WlcOOGDn

Dwayne Haskins Jr.:
Callahan time.
— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) December 11, 2019
On Dwayne Haskins and that ankle. Said he looked great today in practice.
Callahan said Haskins moved well in practice. He doesn’t see any problems with his ankle.
— Matthew Paras (@Matthew_Paras) December 11, 2019
“He looked great today. ... Everything was seamless. ... We moved him out of the pocket today as well.” Callahan on Dwayne Haskins ankle possibly holding him back.
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) December 11, 2019
Bill Callahan said Dwayne Haskins looked great today in terms of his sprained ankle. Was told other day no swelling etc. was “very mild” ankle sprain. That’s why there was no legit thought to pulling him.
— John Keim (@john_keim) December 11, 2019
Callahan said Haskins is really growing in his progressional reads. “We see a growth pattern there,” he said. “He’s not as slow as he was” against Buffalo.
— Matthew Paras (@Matthew_Paras) December 11, 2019
Callahan says Haskins is growing week after week in his ability to recognize and progress.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) December 11, 2019
Says he loves his poise and the calm he has about what teams are trying to do to him. “He’s not a repetitive mistake player.”
Pass protection:
In regards to pass protection, Callahan said the Packers threw some stuff at them that they weren't expecting. Also cited some individual breakdowns, which he said are expected from time to time.
— Kyle Stackpole (@kylefstackpole) December 11, 2019
Slow starts:
“Yeah, I’m tired of the slow starts,” Callahan said about going down 14-0 last two games.
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) December 11, 2019
Callahan: “I’m really tired of the slow starts.”
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) December 11, 2019
He says Philly has been a quick starting team. Obviously in the opener it was reversed and the #Redskins didn’t finish.
Josh Norman:
Callahan says there still packages where Josh Norman could get involved. Those weren’t in for GB, but he could see action moving forward. Has told him to stay ready.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) December 11, 2019
Why the Redskins continue to make Norman active only to not play him is a legit question. @BenStandig asked it. Callahan just chose not to give it a legit answer.
— JP Finlay (@JPFinlayNBCS) December 11, 2019
Asked Callahan about Norman because things are weird. Zero snaps on D or ST Sunday despite injuries. Why keep him active? Callahan: “He’s still in a role where he could potentially play.”
— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) December 11, 2019
BC later said they want to look at other guys. Fine, but then make JNo inactive, right?
Division games:
Callahan: “I want to see a competitive effort against the division. We haven’t been very good.”
— George Wallace (@GWallaceWTOP) December 11, 2019
Callahan on the last three games, all of which come against division foes: “This is a chance to redeem ourselves in a lot of ways.”
— Matthew Paras (@Matthew_Paras) December 11, 2019
Callahan notes they’re 0-7 in last division games, 0-5 vs Philly. Wants to be competitive in division and set the tone for next year. #redskins
— Kareem Copeland (@kareemcopeland) December 11, 2019
Eagles TEs:
Callahan says Philly has done a great job of subbing their TE’s for WR’s as they’ve been banged up outside.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) December 11, 2019
“Watching Ertz run down the field is like watching an X receiver.”

Uptempo offense:
Haskins at the podium.
— Zach Selby (@DarDarBinx61) December 11, 2019
When asked about adding more up tempo offense, Haskins said "the game plan is the game plan. If we had more up tempo, that would be great" before adding ultimately it's up to the coaches. #Redskins #HTTR
First question to Haskins is about the two-minute offense.
— Kyle Stackpole (@kylefstackpole) December 11, 2019
Said he likes it because it doesn’t allow the defense much time to set up. However, he’s focused on operating within the game plan. #Redskins
A lot of questions for Haskins about his performance in an up tempo offense, which makes sense. He's looked his best by far when he's been in those situations. Looks more comfortable and in a zone when he's had a no huddle offense to work with. #Redskins #HTTR
— Zach Selby (@DarDarBinx61) December 11, 2019
Haskins did a great job explaining why 2 minute suits him and what makes it easier. Tempo keeps defenses in the same personnel and basic looks. Also suits his aggressive, down the field style.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) December 11, 2019
Ankle injury:
Haskins said his ankle feels good, shouldn't be limited in practice this week. #Redskins #HTTR
— Zach Selby (@DarDarBinx61) December 11, 2019
Haskins at the podium now. He says that the ankle is fine. Low ankle sprain, which is better than high. Hoping it doesn’t limit him at all this week.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) December 11, 2019
Stone Cold Dwayne Haskins on the injury from last week & staying in game. "I wasn't talking about it. I was playing." #Redskins #NFL pic.twitter.com/04NaG1WT2n
— Chris Russell (@Russellmania621) December 11, 2019
Final 3 games:
Haskins is looking for ways to have fun in these final three games. It makes it even more fun that they are divisional games. #Redskins #HTTR
— Zach Selby (@DarDarBinx61) December 11, 2019
Run-heavy offense:
Haskins said it’s “not necessarily” harder to get into a rhythm in a run-heavy offense.
— Kyle Stackpole (@kylefstackpole) December 11, 2019
But he did say it’s harder on him when faced with third-and-longs. He faced that a few times Sunday due to unsuccessful runs.
Haskins said the offense will try to get the ball out fast against Philly, and hopefully that will lead to more success early in the game.#Redskins have fallen behind, 14-0, in each of the past two games.
— Kyle Stackpole (@kylefstackpole) December 11, 2019
Steven Sims Jr.:
Haskins said Steven Sims has done a great job with his route running and getting open. Sims was one of Haskins' favorite targets against the Packers with seven targets for 40 yards. #Redskins #HTTR
— Zach Selby (@DarDarBinx61) December 11, 2019
Growth:
Haskins says the overall growth is definitely still happening and playcalling has been the biggest area. Just knows the playbook a lot better and what’s expected on each snap. Leads to a lot more confident play.
