The Daily Twitter will be posted at the beginning of every day (at midnight in Washington, DC). The goal is to give readers a handy spot to check the Redskins beat writers & bloggers, and national sports journalists to keep up on the latest news about the Redskins, the NFL, and sports in general, along with a smattering of other things.

HISTORY MADE.
— Chad Ryan (@ChadwikoRCC) November 3, 2019
The #Redskins have gone three consecutive games without a touchdown for the first time in their 88 year history.
Our statement on behalf of Trent Williams:
— NFLPA (@NFLPA) November 3, 2019
In our multiple conversations with Trent and his agent, we have considered various options based on the facts, but we also understand that Trent wants to put this all behind him, not relive a painful experience when his life was (1/3)
...in danger and move on with his career. We are also aware of misinformation being repeated on the NFL's own network that is not sourced and is only designed to tarnish Trent's reputation. (2/3)
— NFLPA (@NFLPA) November 3, 2019
...Our union supports Trent, is protecting his rights and continues to consider potential action if a campaign against him continues. (3/3)

The #Redskins have signed 5 year veteran safety and 2x special teams captain Deshazor Everett to a three-year contract extension.

The Fox announcers seem to believe Haskins hasn't played before today.
— Sean Kennedy (@EatSleepRedskin) November 3, 2019
Haskins on third down again, can see the issues pre-snap still. Signals for a receiver to motion to his right, but Richardson in the slot is waving at him to motion the other way. Ball just snapped in time. #Redskins pic.twitter.com/Pc6HOsOoql
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) November 3, 2019
Commentator Chris Myers called this as "Josh Norman tipped the ball away".
— Chad Ryan (@ChadwikoRCC) November 3, 2019
Uh... sure. That's technically true.#Redskins pic.twitter.com/uocDM9sNLZ
Haskins cans the play and gets them into a wide zone run. #Redskins OL gets some nice movement and AP finds a lane for a nice run pic.twitter.com/Ixv4bx5Tmg

Been that way for years
— Scott Jennings (@ScottJenningsHH) November 3, 2019
Not sure why they didn't challenge that return. Was close enough to do so automatically.
— John Keim (@john_keim) November 3, 2019
We were equally puzzled in the press box, but that looks like at least a 10-yard difference in field position https://t.co/28DSjCdUgg
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) November 3, 2019
Nice stop on 3rd and goal from the one by safety Troy Apke. Filled his lane and attacked Gore as he cut back to make the stop #Redskins pic.twitter.com/8IZkuP9soH

Adrian Peterson: 9 touches, 121 yards
— michael phillips (@michaelpRTD) November 3, 2019
All other Redskins players: 10 plays, 43 yards
The Redskins' defense has not helped at all today; they have allowed scoring drives on all three Buffalo possessions. The big part of the problem: the run defense. Despite stuffing Frank Gore three times inside the 1-yard line, the Redskins' interior... https://t.co/GZZ7hJ8TKV
— John Keim (@john_keim) November 3, 2019
Brandon Scherff made this screen to AP work. Engages the DT and then works off him to pick up 24 and cut him off, allowing Peterson to turn the corner. #Redskins pic.twitter.com/3EOJwFxIot

So when Callahan and KOC were getting Dwayne ready all week (with extra days) what was Manusky doing?
— Litty Hardaway™ (@dj9onefive) November 3, 2019
Now - why they can't score touchdowns:
— Chris Russell (@Russellmania621) November 3, 2019
Various reasons. Teams don't fear their passing attack so they can bunch the line. Mistakes or a lack of a polished go-to guy hurts.
Some Adrian Peterson stats:
— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) November 3, 2019
* 123 scrimmage yards in the first half is the fifth most he’s ever had (147 yards against Seattle in 2012)
* His 101 rushing yards in the 1H is the third most in the NFL this season. (Lamar Jackson’s 111 v Cincinnati and Dalvin Cook’s 105 v. GB)
They weren't scoring enough points being pass heavy either?
— Chris Russell (@Russellmania621) November 3, 2019
They scored three garbage time touchdowns in the first three weeks to make it look better.
I guess if that's what you're OK with, they should throw 50 times a game.
Score more than 6 points per game
— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) November 3, 2019
The #Redskins are 0/6 in the red zone in the Bill Callahan "era" and haven't converted a red zone trip into a touchdown since Week 3 (it's now Week 9).
— Chris Russell (@Russellmania621) November 3, 2019
They are now (20-84, 23.8%) on third downs this year which is beyond putrid.
The problems start at QB & continue from there.
To be fair, on two of those three drives, the D had to work with short fields. On the long drive, they forced the Bills into a FG. They a;so had three straight stuffs of Frank Gore at the 1 before Josh Allen punched it in on 4th. The few big plays they've allowed have killed them
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) November 3, 2019
Adrian Peterson's first 5 games: 40 carries for 108 yards.
— Kyle Stackpole (@kylefstackpole) November 3, 2019
Peterson's past 3.5 games: 67 carries for 376 yards. That's 5.6 yards per carry. #Redskins
Another 1 yard stand by this Redskins D. Have been good in that area today.
— Kareem Copeland (@kareemcopeland) November 3, 2019
Here's the replay angle. Payne at NT gets incredibly low and drives the C into the backfield, blowing up the run. Landon Collins came in off the edge to make finish off the play. #Redskins pic.twitter.com/1lg3Gk9bQG
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) November 3, 2019
Redskins have scored 3 tds in their last 22 quaters of ostensibly professional football and two of them were verse the Dolphins
— PFTCommenter (@PFTCommenter) November 3, 2019
It is so weird to me that Dwayne Haskins, who played with Terry McLaurin at college and supposedly has a great on-field rapport with him, is seemingly much worse at getting him the ball than Case Keenum was. #Redskins
— Chad Ryan (@ChadwikoRCC) November 3, 2019
Here's Adrian Peterson just refusing to be tackled #Redskins pic.twitter.com/cXotRmv2Wx
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) November 3, 2019
They just did and lost four yards on a screen. We can argue forever about this and I see your point to some degree but you can not coach & call plays for Haskins or even Keenum, like they're Drew Brees or Aaron Rodgers.
— Chris Russell (@Russellmania621) November 3, 2019
Grant - please tell me that you understand every team and QB is different??
— Chris Russell (@Russellmania621) November 3, 2019
You can't just use a set of analytics & say that's going to work for EVERYONE.
This is not hard. It doesn't work for them. Simple.
The #Bills have run the ball 2:1 in this game, compared to the pass.
— Chris Russell (@Russellmania621) November 3, 2019
They are at 17 and have ball again.
They understand what they are. A very limited passing attack with a strong run game, a young developing QB and a good defense.
They win games by understanding identity.
False start kills everything. Two plays later, punting.
— Kareem Copeland (@kareemcopeland) November 3, 2019
How do you not go for it? 4th and 2 at the 50...give your young gun some confidence.. #Redskins
— Kennedy Paynter (@Kennedy_Paynter) November 3, 2019
NFL teams have to throw to be successful in today's NFL because it's hard to overcome negative plays by running the ball.
— Sean Kennedy (@EatSleepRedskin) November 3, 2019
Redskins cannot throw the ball well right now. It's killing them.
#Redskins now (20-85) on third down this year.
— Chris Russell (@Russellmania621) November 3, 2019
They haven't converted a red zone opportunity into a TD since Week 3.
That was mid-September. It's now November.
We can argue run/pass. Here's the truth. They don't have enough of anything.
At least the culture is damn good.
Josh Norman celebrating this as a well-defended jump ball is an interesting choice.#Redskins pic.twitter.com/Vv4krfl88N

Here's the sack on Haskins. Penn gets beat by Hughes at LT, Hughes threatens the edge with speed and then uses great hands to win inside. Bills had a free rusher off the right side too as AP executed a PA fake and couldn't get back. #Redskins pic.twitter.com/PJ54SZ0Zr5
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) November 3, 2019
The last time the Skins scored a TD, a DC team had not won a World Series in 95 years.
— Joe Yasharoff (@JYash) November 3, 2019
Nice job by Dwayne Haskins on 3rd down. Free rusher from the secondary right in his face, Haskins sets up and gets the ball out to Richardson for a first down. #Redskins get the conversion pic.twitter.com/Gsavzt5D6k

Can't almost fumble the football when you're running all alone in space.#Redskins pic.twitter.com/0hm8r3yyOd
Haskins had nobody open on 3rd and 10, Bills coverage holds up and #Redskins forced to punt pic.twitter.com/uEWvpG4X8O
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) November 3, 2019
Another big play by Daron Payne, collapsing the LOS as he dives low on 3rd and 1. Frees up a lane for Shaun Dion Hamilton to burst through and make a tackle for loss #Redskins pic.twitter.com/r5f4mCF8Hr
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) November 3, 2019
Loud boos from the crowd. Well deserved. Bills have been atrocious in short-yardage situations.
— michael phillips (@michaelpRTD) November 3, 2019
As bad as this defense was in the first five weeks, they've been pretty good in the last four.
— Chris Russell (@Russellmania621) November 3, 2019
Not perfect, but much better.
They are giving #Redskins plenty of chances.
Savvy move by Florida State, firing their football coach right in the middle of the 1 p.m. NFL window.
— Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) November 3, 2019
This is a miscommunication here. Haskins changes a call at the LOS, Adrian Peterson unsure of what the call was. Peterson and Roullier worked out to the left on a screen, Scherff went right, like Haskins. #Redskins pic.twitter.com/w5wIffp6W7
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) November 3, 2019
Nice blitz by the Bills. Cover both A gaps, drop out one and send a DB blitz off the right side of the OL. RB steps up to block the A gap, DB comes off the edge free for the sack #Redskins pic.twitter.com/2ShkHDjgrZ
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) November 3, 2019
Josh Allen somehow managed to avoid the sack here and nearly completed a pass. pic.twitter.com/eNrQuU6iyq
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) November 3, 2019
Montez Sweat wasn't able to wrap up Josh Allen on that play for the sack. He escaped and the WR dropped the ball.
— Rhiannon Walker (@InstantRHIplay) November 3, 2019
Third and 18, #Redskins get a stunt wrong up front, all 4 rushers work inside, nobody works the edges. Allen has plenty of time to find a man. pic.twitter.com/IBiBjgAAkp
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) November 3, 2019
The Jets are trailing Miami is 9 is absolutely astounding.
— Football Perspective (@fbgchase) November 3, 2019
Not because the Dolphins are tanking, but because Adam Gase doesn’t lose by single digits.
Redskins defense did alright today. But it’s not enough.
— Sean Kennedy (@EatSleepRedskin) November 3, 2019
Has an Interim HC been fired mid-season? Just curious.
— Robbie Duncan (@RobbieDuncanOL) November 3, 2019
Singletary TD - #Redskins stunt edge defender Ryan Anderson inside and replace him with Landon Collins scraping to the edge, but the Bills LT reads it well and peels off to pick up Collins, sealing him inside as Singletary bounces to the edge for the TD pic.twitter.com/UZuqQ6EYOm
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) November 3, 2019
Haskins has gotta do a better job of protecting himself here. Looks like a 4 verticals concept but hard to tell. Doesn't like it so rolls out to his right but then runs into a hit he could have avoided by throwing it away. pic.twitter.com/AGTq0DZRke
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) November 3, 2019
Oooooffff
— Chad Ryan (@ChadwikoRCC) November 3, 2019

— Chad Ryan (@ChadwikoRCC) November 3, 2019
Haskins has shown progress today, but there are still quite a few mechanical flaws he has that are contributing to these inaccurate throws. Having a clean pocket helps. But Haskins needs to iron out these inconsistencies #WASvsBUF
— Riggo's Rag (@RiggosRag) November 3, 2019
The Redskins have now gone 13 quarters without a TD. Here's their scoring outputs recently.
— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) November 3, 2019
3 against the Giants
7 against the Patriots
17 in an explosion against the awful Dolphins
0 against the 49ers
9 against the Vikings
9 against the Bills
The Redskins are now averaging 8 points a game in the Bill Callahan era.
