The Daily Twitter will be posted at the beginning of every day (at midnight in Washington, DC). The goal is to give readers a handy spot to check the Redskins beat writers & bloggers, and national sports journalists to keep up on the latest news about the Redskins, the NFL, and sports in general, along with a smattering of other things.

The phrase "rock bottom" gets thrown a lot; we've probably heard it a number of times this season. Was Sunday rock bottom? Well, six games remain. But i do know it was an absolute low. And I do know it'll be hard to ever witness a worse season here. Good morning!

Donald Penn was highly critical of himself in the locker room for exploding at the ref after Haskins' pass was called back in the second quarter. He said as the oldest player on the Redskins, he has to set a better example. He plans to address the team Monday and apologize

Running back Derrius Guice said his big takeaway from this game was that "we've got to all stop being selfish. We've got to play as a unit, as a team. Too many self-inflicted wounds and that's hurting us -- that hurts us every game. We've always had the... https://t.co/gJZJWNzb75

It took me 5 seasons to tire of Jay Gruden's act. I'm tired of Bill Callahan's after half a season.

My col: The prestige & status of Redskins within DC area reached its nadir --the lowest point in existence of the franchise in this city since 1937 — on Sunday at FedEx Field. What once seemed impossible is now undeniable: the Skins have lost Washington. https://t.co/SEoMirRuBH

List of things the Redskins do well:
— Redskins (@_mattschoen_) November 17, 2019
1. Punt
Was told Tress Way left the locker room wearing a boot. The Redskins legit cannot afford to lose their valuable puntet. https://t.co/kSTIqM5OHd
— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) November 18, 2019
Biggest takeaway: The Redskins have a long way to go just to reach respectability. Losing by 17 to the New York Jets at home -- after a bye -- was inexcusable. Rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins endured growing pains, but don't blame him for the loss.... https://t.co/eCOUXsdphm

Just a quick few examples:
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) November 18, 2019
-3rd & 5 where he misses Quinn is an easy completion to Harmon.
-INT to Quinn is a bad read. Give the ball to Guice in the flat (where he should have) and it's a big gain.
Jets played Cover 2 all day. All-22 is gonna be really revealing.
Roullier had an AWFUL day snapping on Sunday. A ton of low ones, including a 3rd down in the 3rd quarter that would've been an easy conversion to Sprinkle on a shallow cross. Ball was at Dwayne's ankles.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) November 18, 2019
Help your young QB. Shouldn't have to worry about the freaking snap.
#DwayneHaskins needs work. We knew that. Would be nice if #Redskins didn’t have 4 drops & well-paid RG & RT didn’t combine for 4 1st-H penalties. But biggest takeaway is #Skins’ defense. Pathetic to get torched by Darnold & lowly Jets. Total coaching & schematic overhaul needed.
— Al Galdi (@AlGaldi) November 17, 2019
I'd be very curious to know how this went over with the Redskins' veteran linemen. If this is Tom Brady it's great leadership. A young guy who has struggled? Perhaps they liked it. I'd be curious to know. https://t.co/XAU9Hlf2qv

Skins OL, basically: pic.twitter.com/1lK2k5G1XF
Yesterday was the worst performance I've seen from a #Redskins OL group since I've been a fan.
— Chad Ryan (@ChadwikoRCC) November 18, 2019
Haskins was under pressure constantly. Missed blocks. Low snaps. Bad lanes and angles. @RobbieDuncanOL your OL breakdown this week ain't gonna be pretty...
Tony Bergstrom in at TE as the 6th OL on play-action, but he gets beaten easily inside and Haskins is sacked before he gets a chance to throw #Redskins pic.twitter.com/UqfhuBE7A0
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) November 17, 2019
I have come to the conclusion that I do not want the Redskins to re-sign Brandon Scherff this offseason; rather I HOPE they use the franchise tag on him to see if his play in 2020 warrants a big-money deal...all the while continuing to develop Wes Martin.
— Mark Tyler(Hogs Haven) (@Tiller56) November 18, 2019
He made his share of mistakes. Didn’t play well. He plays for a bad team. One that was bad when he wasn’t playing. He is not good enough to lift them up. They’re not good enough to lift him up.has a ton to learn. I don’t know where it goes. But this org has a ton of work ahead

"There is only the space between numb reality and comic relief. You’re either indifferent about this 1-9 outfit, which is a scary space for the owner to find his fan base, or you’re laughing at it, which is worse. Shrugged shoulders or the butt of jokes."

Legendary DC writer @ThomasBoswellWP today:

— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) November 18, 2019
This draft is grotesquely deep, especially at WR. The #Redskins traded their 2nd rounder for Sweat, which is gonna be a top 35 pick.
That is absolutely brutal.
Redskins snap counts. Of note:
— michael phillips (@michaelpRTD) November 18, 2019
1) Wendell Smallwood the most used RB
2) Starting defensive backs were benched for the game's final plays
3) Much more Geron Christian than normal at LT pic.twitter.com/bsb6DpQAaU

Heck yes this is worse. They won 4 games that year and lost six by 1 Td or less. Bingo caller was bad but this is the worst product they’ve put on the field. 7 of 9 losses by double digits. Not competitive. Stands half empty unless big time opponent. https://t.co/fcVuvMnDfe

The Vikings have thrown just 320 passes this season, but Stefon Diggs has 880 yards this season. As we get smarter about football stats, we should recognize that he’s having a monster season for a run heavy team, the way Paul Warfield and Otis Taylor used to.
— Football Perspective (@fbgchase) November 18, 2019
Garoppolo would be getting the Jameis Winston treatment from Twitter if he was on a bad team.
— Football Perspective (@fbgchase) November 18, 2019
He has thrown a league-high 8 INTs while tied or ahead on the scoreboard; only reason he hasn't thrown more INTs this year is SF takes the ball out of his hands because of a great D.
Down 10 with 3:19 to go, the #Bears have Chase Daniel in at QB while Mitch Trubisky watches.

If you’re going to assign your quarterback a fake injury to save your own ass, maybe pick a body part that’s less easily exposed as fraudulent. Let me help you, Matt: “Mitchell is suffering from an undisclosed nostril injury.”

Veterans as a class are overpaid, because the CBA stole money from rookies and gave it to veterans. Rookie wage scale means rookies are underpaid and veterans overpaid.
— Football Perspective (@fbgchase) November 18, 2019
Smart teams get lots of rookie contracts and maximize talent with stud veterans.... like Mack. https://t.co/Acmv21TPpA
“If we let what’s going on outside the locker room get to us, that’ll break this team apart.”#Eagles’ anemic offense to blame for squandering oppty vs. Brady. But players reiterated their faith in Carson Wentz + the team's commitment to remaining united https://t.co/frmfbnavJA
— Kimberley A. Martin (@ByKimberleyA) November 18, 2019
Brady blamed his surly post-game demeanor on fatigue. But in truth, this was the full-on smolder of a 42-year-old whose goals of staving off Father Time to repeat as a Super Bowl champion may be at risk because his offense sputters against quality teams. https://t.co/AzvgjDraQf

Dak Prescott has thrown for 841 yards over the last two weeks. He is leading the NFL with 3,221 yards right now. I would have lost that bet.
