Bill Callahan talked to the media today and had some big news. Rookie QB Dwayne Haskins Jr. will get his first start this week whwn the Redskins play the Bills. Case Keenum is still dealing with a concussion that caused him to miss the 2nd half of the Vikings game last Thursday. Colt McCoy will serve as Haskins backup.

Everyday going out with the crowd noise, the game clock — maybe we give him more time or less time — and asking other players to be mindful of getting to the line to allow Haskins as much time are things the coaches did to help prepare Haskins, Kevin O’Connell said.

Callahan says they focused a lot on tempo in practice. They even took down the average of when he snapped the ball and they were happy with those numbers.

O'Connell said there have been separate call sheets for Haskins and that they used those plays when Haskins appeared in relief against New York and Minnesota.

KOC says they’ve had separate call sheets for Haskins in the previous games, but they practiced this week with a pretty full game plan and they’ll narrow it down today as they normally do with their starter.
