The Daily Twitter will be posted at the beginning of every day (at midnight in Washington, DC). The goal is to give readers a handy spot to check the Redskins beat writers & bloggers, and national sports journalists to keep up on the latest news about the Redskins, the NFL, and sports in general, along with a smattering of other things.

It rains and pours but the sun will eventually shine. Whatever it takes, that’s my word. More fuel to the fire. Don’t be a fan later https://t.co/I8gnIAqYch
— Dwayne Haskins, Jr (@dh_simba7) September 29, 2019
RT: Dwayne Haskins' simple tweet -- "Don't be a fan later" -- is everything that is wrong with #Redskins, everything that gets in the way of the football. It is the disease that runs through the franchise. My column https://t.co/nzauhEzcxi

Jay Gruden did not name a starting QB. Wants to see how McCoy and Keenum respond after a day of work. When we were at the field McCoy was the first QB in some of the drills.
— John Keim (@john_keim) October 3, 2019
He knows. You'd have to be a naive idiot to think that Jay Gruden doesn't know who is starting on Sunday barring an injury setback.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) October 3, 2019
Hint: It's Colt McCoy.
(They are unprepared in other ways. See earlier thread.) https://t.co/yjDrW4iMOo

— The Redskins Wire (@TheRedskinsWire) October 3, 2019
Plain & simple, if Colt McCoy can plant & throw, he’ll start for the Skins vs New England. McCoy knows the offense better than the other two and gives the best chance to win. Why make any more of it? Haskins is their future, not now. #redskins
— Chick Hernandez (@MrChickSports) October 3, 2019
He played this weekend and national analysts said they set him up to fail and had an "agenda" by doing so. https://t.co/BzKc9LLUsc
— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) October 3, 2019
Case Keenum was in a boot mid week before the Giants game. He's still in a boot now. He was not healthy during the game and as a result was worse than normal. The backup was Dwayne Haskins. If McCoy was healthy he would have gone in. He wasn't. So it was Haskins. Not nefarious.
— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) October 3, 2019
Ultimately it comes down to this:
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) October 3, 2019
Coaching is part schematics, part teaching. Schematically Jay is ELITE. Their pass game is so good.
The part that is failing is the teaching. Guys don’t know what to do. That’s part on the players. It’s part on the coaches. But it’s failing.
Gruden to the podium after Thursday practice. McLaurin, Roullier and Keenum were all limited today.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) October 3, 2019
Scherff, Norman, Reed, Davis and JHC were all DNP.
Defensively it typically is one guy. Defenses don’t work with 10. Eleven guys have to execute and it’s exhausting seeing one guy get lost.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) October 3, 2019
Brady won’t miss that. Ever. The Patriots are gonna score 60 if the #Redskins do that stuff this weekend.
Adrian Peterson talks to the media about what he has seen on film from the Patriots defense and how it affects the run game. pic.twitter.com/OoeKo9dCwm

This technique is so difficult to execute too, but Penn is so good at it. https://t.co/saMrDAmBwi
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) October 3, 2019
And before I get attacked. I’m looking at this as one bad play, not a final judgement on who he is/will be as a player.
— Robbie Duncan (@RobbieDuncanOL) October 3, 2019
Pats are joint first in the league for sacks. Belichick has shown willingness to go Cover 0, but he’s also played Cover 1 with a robber/plugger and had such sticky coverage that they’ve generated plenty of coverage sacks too https://t.co/XlhlNA2tvL
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) October 3, 2019
I think Tomsula is a really good DL coach, so it certainly can change (assuming he remains on staff long enough to see it play out), but right now he's as raw as can be.

Facts Brudda‼️ https://t.co/hMOGMYRtxd
— Cam Sims (@Silkysims17) October 3, 2019
Fact check: true.
— Neil Greenberg (@ngreenberg) October 3, 2019
Redskins pass 72 percent of the time on 2nd down *after* they've rushed on 1st down. Only Falcons have higher pass rate in these situations (74 percent). Rest of league: 55 percent. https://t.co/0JAZtQm0lw
Gruden was asked about that yesterday. Said no. https://t.co/Dh4AC4hI0D

Maybe Dan Snyder should call the Rams at half time and offer a couple of 1st round picks for Sean McVay, see if they’ll overreact to this game and the loss vs the Bucs
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) October 4, 2019
I've spent time studying most of Patrick Mahomes' throws from the first four games of the season. I've been watching the NFL since 1973, and he is without question the best quarterback I've seen. I can't imagine that any of the pre-merger quarterbacks were better than Mahomes.
