It’s NFL Trade Deadline Day! There has been a lot of buzz over the last two days about potential trades, and several trades have already gone down. The Redskins are involved in a lot of rumors, and most of them involve their disgruntled, hold out LT Trent Williams. Washington(aka Bruce Allen)’s stance has been they want to wait until after the season to trade him, but that has reportedly changed as the deadline got closer.
The Redskins reported asking price for Williams is a 1st rounder and more. They could also want a player and and a combination of picks. We’ll keep you updated on all the latest rumors and news right here.

If Williams isn’t traded, the Redskins have to request that he be reinstated by the NFL Commissioner:
One note on Trent Williams: A holdout player who doesn't report before the trade deadline would have to be formally reinstated by the commissioner's office at the team's request in order to play this year. May not matter, he doesn't want to play for Wash anyway. But noteworthy.

Redskins and Browns not budging in negotiations:
I'm told the stare down continues between the #Browns and the #Redskins regarding LT Trent Williams. A source just text me, "the Skins are still holding firm on what they want in return." Browns GM John Dorsey not bending, at this minute.

The Browns have injury concerns about trading for Williams:
As of this am a source says t/ #Browns discussed some concerns at including 1st-round compensation for a LT Trent Williams who's 31 & has not recently practiced w/an NFL team. They said, ”What if he gets hurt?" Injuries can happen to anyone, anytime; including ur nxt 1st-rounder.

The Redskins have asked the Browns to include CB Denzel Ward in a trade for Williams:
Refusing to trade a highly coveted player for months only to open him up for preposterous offers like "cornerback chosen with a top five pick still on a rookie deal" at the last minute is very on brand. https://t.co/tadXA3orem

The Redskins want a 1st round pick, or a package of picks and a playmaker:
The Redskins haven't altered their stance on trading tackle Trent Williams: In order to move him, a team will have to meet their price. And, entering today, that price was a first-rounder - or somehow a package that gave them a playmaker to help the... https://t.co/RxfLzMPsUv

The Browns are more in the multiple mid-round pick range:
The thought is 2nd-3rd rounders is the realistic, fair compensation for Williams. Does either side blink first before the deadline? #Redskins https://t.co/B9hYCZFi03

The Redskins are telling teams they have a 2nd round pick on the table, still want a 1st:
The #Redskins have told other teams they have a second-round pick on the table for LT Trent Williams. So it appears they’re holding out for a first-rounder. https://t.co/4zvN7CodUj

The Browns are still interested in Williams:
The Redskins have begun the process of ascertaining interest across the league. And I'm told the asking price, for right now (and this is obviously subject to change), is a first-round pick. https://t.co/gtkbT3Afum
