Redskins Injury Update: Bryce Love needs another knee surgery

Dr Love goes under the knife again

NCAA Football: Oregon State at Stanford Stan Szeto-USA TODAY Sports

Redskins injuries have once again been piling up, and they have hit the running backs over the last week. Derrius Guice has been on IR since suffering a meniscus injury Week 1(could stsrt practicing again with the team soon). Chris Thompson got turf toe in the Redskins game vs the Dolphins, and missed Sunday's game. Now Adrian Peterson is getting an MRI for ankle injury.

People naturally wanted an update on this year's 4th round RB pick Bryce Love. He started his NFL career on the Non-Football Injury List due to an injury that happened before he was drafted. Love tore his ACL on the last play of his college career at Stanford University.

JP Finlay reported yesterday that Love will have another surgery on his injured right knee. Ian Rapoport added that this is a minor procedure aimed at speeding up the rehab for the original surgery. This is something that teams apparently knew was coming after medical checks at the NFL scouting Combine.

Moving forward, it’s unclear what Love’s rehab schedule will look like. NFL Network reported back in April that some teams had concerns over Love’s injury and lingering knee stiffness. One source explained that Love’s medicals from the NFL Scouting Combine revealed that some doctors believed another surgery would be necessary.
