Dan Snyder is a small, petty man who owns a big, storied franchise. The DMV has long been Redskins territory, getting the majority of the attention, viewers, and media coverage compared to the other sports in town. When other teams have success, it drives Snyder nuts. The Washington Capitals won the Stanley cup two years ago and Snyder was furious, despite the social media congratulations from an intern.
