The Daily Twitter will be posted at the beginning of every day (at midnight in Washington, DC). The goal is to give readers a handy spot to check the Redskins beat writers & bloggers, and national sports journalists to keep up on the latest news about the Redskins, the NFL, and sports in general.

As @MikeGarafolo said earlier, Torrian Gray is out with the #Redskins. As he hinted, it’s part of a much bigger house cleaning on that side of the ball.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) January 8, 2019
Final names aren’t known yet, but a source indicates the changes will be basically whole-sale.
Joe Woods is the DB coach I thought the Skins were going to hire two years ago before they hired Gray. Not surprised Skins may be showing interest again to add Woods to their staff now or that Gray might be out the door.
— T M (@reshmanuel) January 8, 2019
A shame to see Torrian Gray go.
— Chad Ryan (@ChadwikoRCC) January 8, 2019
The #Redskins had a lot of challenges in the secondary this year, but they stemmed from personnel/availability, not scheme/coaching.
Also means that young guys like Dunbar and Everett will now be on their 3rd DBs coach in 5 years. Not ideal.
One question about Torrian Gray was if could he transfer his skills from college to the NFL. Frankly, I don't know that many coaches could have tamed that room this year. Still, had to make a change. Can't keep the status quo.

Exactly..As we all said at the time..big mistake & arrogance that they knew better. https://t.co/KHrnVIUzVq
— Chris Russell (@Russellmania621) January 8, 2019
Talked to one player as all this was developing today that said this EXACT thing.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) January 8, 2019
Everyone talks about letting McVay go, which they could do nothing about. They could’ve kept Aubrey. Brutal to let him go and really push him out the door. https://t.co/JJrzpYPyZ7
Um. Yeah. This does not bode well for Manusky. https://t.co/XrtjJjG4Ir
— Burgundy Blog (@BurgundyBlog) January 8, 2019
If Washington is reaching out to a new DBs coach, and holding meetings w the hottest D-coordinator candidate on the market, it seems fair to suggest the Redskins are rebuilding their defensive coaching staff https://t.co/Nz8fbkv0fk pic.twitter.com/SeYrFACE8o
— JP Finlay (@JPFinlayNBCS) January 8, 2019
Also don’t think they want to offer the job and get told, “No. I’m going to Tampa, even though I played here and won a Super Bowl.”
— JP Finlay (@JPFinlayNBCS) January 8, 2019
Former #Jets coach Todd Bowles is the top choice to join Bruce Arians in Tampa. Would make for quite a staff. https://t.co/ExK5rPhtGA
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) January 8, 2019
Interesting development, given that Manusky is still the DC for the time being. Would have to imagine being on Arians staff in Tampa would be more appealing than any job with the Skins right now though. https://t.co/FjsnnxIP0d
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) January 8, 2019
Don’t know. Does sound like Doug Williams has a good relationship with him. But TB might just be better situation for him. We shall see. https://t.co/8jCEeIVv4d
— John Keim (@john_keim) January 8, 2019
Former Jets Head Coach, Todd Bowles is joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the Defensive Coordinator per sources. First reported by @AlbertBreer
— Dianna Russini (@diannaESPN) January 9, 2019
#Redskins fans can stop dreaming of Bowles now https://t.co/LcaTTFsg9t
— Mark Bullock (@MarkBullockNFL) January 8, 2019
Based on today's buzz + couple private whispers, my read: Manusky requested position coach changes (supposedly incl TG, KO), Jay flirting w potential replacements but may not even know yet whether he's keeping Manusky. Most of staff still in the dark.
— Burgundy Blog (@BurgundyBlog) January 8, 2019
Bruce Arians has been hired by the Bucs because he flew to Tampa and showed them this: pic.twitter.com/6WBVGa67Gn

One downside to having a defensive-minded head coach? You'll lose your offensive coordinator time and time again if you have good ones. Those guys don't stay assistants long.
— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) January 8, 2019
The Redskins had the No. 1 offense in the NFL in 2012 with a QB in Robert Griffin who has not been a full-time starter since leaving DC. That staff that worked with him now comprises 19% of the NFC's head coaching jobs.
— Grant Paulsen (@granthpaulsen) January 8, 2019
Congrats to Matt Lafleur and his family! Great coach, better guy! https://t.co/wse51jllCQ
— Robert Griffin III (@RGIII) January 8, 2019
Sources: The #Bucs are focusing on hiring former #AZCardinals coach Bruce Arians as their new coach and the strong interest is mutual. Negotiations are likely to begin soon. Here we go.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) January 8, 2019
Just occurred to me that Arians could keep DeSean Jackson in Tampa. He loves a smallish field-stretching speedster:

How do you shitcan a guy who came to you with 1 year of NFL coordinator experience after 1 season then turn around and hire a guy with no NFL coaching experience at all?

My understanding is that two finalists for the #Browns head coach job are Freddie Kitchens and Kevin Stefanski. At this point, those are the only two known finalists, so that may be it. @TomPelissero said Stefanski headed there now, Kitchens is still in the building.

This is a stand up guy that a lot of young players can look up to. This is how you handle adversity like a pro. Cody is a heck of a kicker and will be for a long time. No reason to be taking the heat he is especially when that ball was tipped. #ClassAct https://t.co/Ae2kr0DYIy

Candidate 1: "I've spent the last decade building great defenses."
— Kevin Clark (@bykevinclark) January 7, 2019
Candidate 2: "I had a Bud Light Lime with Sean McVay at the NFL combine."
All eight NFL teams with openings: Well, I've heard enough. Let's start talking contract, candidate 2.
There are so many connections in this league. LaFleur was comfortable keeping Pettine on because his mentor Kyle Shanahan was Pettine’s OC in Cleveland, and they have a good relationship. LaFleur’s brother Mike LaFleur (now WR coach in SF) was on that Cleveland staff too. https://t.co/7tPowDnBjG

I've been to Seattle, New England, Kansas City and plenty of other stadiums -- there is absolutely no question that playing the Saints in New Orleans is the toughest game in the NFL

Hey @JPFinlayNBCS — I just figured out the genius of Bruce Allen.. He’s had the #Redskins on a decade long #TankForTrevor and we’re now just 2 years away from it coming to fruition!! The way this kid moves in the pocket & sees the field is sick.. #ALLIN

Looked into it. The XFL would accept younger players into the league, and in fact @OliverLuckXFL mentioned college players choosing to play in the XFL instead of transfer.

Interesting comment from Deion Sanders here on NFL Network. Claims Tomlin knew everything that had transpired with Antonio Brown that week & that AB had permission from the #Steelers to miss each day of practice ahead of their Week 17 game. Very different to what Tomlin said ... pic.twitter.com/IAKiWXASHt

Alabama is down by 22 points in the 4th quarter but that did not stop their secondary from doing a victory dance after stopping a pass on 2nd down. I am, like, super impressed right now.
