DeAngelo Hall interviewed for Redskins DBs Coach job, also offered same job with University of Maryland

Coach DHall?

NFL: Washington Redskins at Los Angeles Chargers Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

The Redskins finally found a replacement for Defensive Backs Coach Torrian Gray, who left to return to the University of Florida. Former Cardinals, Titans, and Browns Defensive Coordinator Ray Horton was lured out of a leisurely life of flying airplanes and golfing to return to the NFL to coach DBs for the Redskins. There were reports Horton could also become Washington’s Defensive Pass Game Coordinator, but that is reportedly not happening...yet.

DeAngelo Hall was also interviewed for the Redskins’ DB coaching position. He was reportedly impressive enough to be considered for the job. Hall retired last year after 14 years in the NFL. He spent his final 10 seasons with the Redskins. Hall was reportedly interested in either a front office position, coaching, or broadcasting following his retirement.

Hall also said that he was offered the DB coaching job at the University of Maryland. He was waiting to hear back from the Redskins, and new Terps HC Mike Locksley moved and hired Cory Robinson for DB Coach/Defensive Passing Game Coordinator.

DeAngelo Hall also mentioned that current Defensive Coordinator Greg Manusky was in on the meetings with Head Coach Jay Gruden as Team President Bruce Allen mentioned during his recent Q&A with reporters.
