The Daily Twitter will be posted at the beginning of every day (at midnight in Washington, DC). The goal is to give readers a handy spot to check the Redskins beat writers & bloggers, and national sports journalists to keep up on the latest news about the Redskins, the NFL, and sports in general.

With the injuries, the Redskins basically spent December stashing all their futures players on the 53-man roster. https://t.co/nCNJNFMUIO

Dan Snyder stayed at FedEx for about eight hrs after the game, mostly in closed-door "meetings." I do not have a full invite list, but Bruce Allen was with him for most or all of it. (To me, that doesn't seem like something that would happen if Dan were about to sack Bruce.)
— Burgundy Blog (@BurgundyBlog) January 1, 2019
Around 3 AM, Snyder left FedEx, got in his plane, and flew to the Bahamas, where he goes often. I think he's still there. I do not think any #Redskins officials joined him, but I'm told he has continued to dialogue by phone w Allen.
— Burgundy Blog (@BurgundyBlog) January 1, 2019
I said in previous post to Keim I thought Snyder and Allen were out testing the waters to see if there are any coaches interested. Once they get the answer they'll either keep or fire Gruden. Hope it leaks if this is what they are doing. Not that they care.
— Killerbees (@towncreekboys) January 1, 2019
Sentiments like this happen over a period of time. Skins have been a .500 team for past four years yet vitriol more in line with a team much worse. Simple as winning to regain fans? Only u can answer. Skins should not assume tho. https://t.co/MXnixvaxbA
— John Keim (@john_keim) January 1, 2019
Have seen it in a quick check. People seem to be surprised that they would have this arrogant attitude or belief in their brand. Or that they still have it. This is the problem. They think the media & fans have it all wrong. Not them.
— Chris Russell (@Russellmania621) January 1, 2019
Average rating for skins games on Fox in this market over last eight seasons. Larger forces at play, obviously. But you really don’t think anything has changed? Were they good in 2011 and 2013? pic.twitter.com/CP8jXWHvgt
— Dan Steinberg (@dcsportsbog) January 1, 2019
I'm assuming Jay Gruden stays even if he peppered answers yesterday about his future with "if" often.
— Breaking Burgundy 2.0 (@TSCRedskins) January 1, 2019
But, that Bengals' opening. A deal with his old team would run 4-5 years. 2 years left here. Maybe out after 2019 with another playoff miss. Dalton meh but >> Skins QB sitch.
Really hard-working guy always on a quest for knowledge and improvement. https://t.co/4wa0IuXc8d

From our story, Fritz Pollard Alliance leaders said they are not overly alarmed about the disproportionate number of minority coaches being fired in this cycle. But it does point to the ongoing need to ensure the interviewing and hiring process is fair, they said.

Fritz Pollard Alliance's John Wooten: “We all know it’s win or go home. We’ll work at it and go on. We’ll keep looking at it and push forward for the next opportunities.”

New year, new 2019 #NFL mock draft (along with some names to watch with the Redskins at 15).https://t.co/uGuqoEuLuC
— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) January 1, 2019
Landon Collins, Tyrann Mathieu (not listed in this story) and C.J. Mosley (not listed) should be at the top of the #Redskins' wish list. Realistically they'd sign just one of Collins/Mathieu and I can see Mosley re-signing with Baltimore before FA starts.https://t.co/V3uPJsFJKK
— Jake Russell (@_JakeRussell) January 1, 2019
Washington HC Jay Gruden on Alex Smith’s condition: “We're obviously hopeful he can turn a corner and start the rehab process and possibly get back on the field. That’s all we can hope for right now.”

Packing and roster uncertainty for several veterans highlighted Redskins exit interview day. With Josh Norman's situation, what he leaves behind in his locker may hold the answer. https://t.co/WuQzltBiQ9
— Ben Standig (@BenStandig) January 1, 2019
Some key longtime Redskins are approaching 30 or already there. How much time is left for this group? On Trent Williams, Ryan Kerrigan, Jordan Reed and the future. https://t.co/HpbWGGoj56

A 2019 backfield of Adrian Peterson, Derrius Guice and Chris Thompson?
— NBC Sports Redskins (@NBCSRedskins) December 31, 2018
Yep, that sounds good to Chris Thompson. pic.twitter.com/KckXoF2qsw
Did u see the lineups they had? Don’t know many coaches who would keep winning with a fourth qb who just joined team. If u don’t like JG that’s fine. If don’t think right coach ok. But be realistic about what they were dealing with.

We've heard almost 30 names connected with the 8 current NFL HC openings
— Dan Hatman (@Dan_Hatman) January 1, 2019
Based on the volume of interest (interviews/requests/etc), these 8 names seem to be the most coveted
Eric Bieniemy
Dan Campbell
Vic Fangio
Brian Flores
Adam Gase
Mike McCarthy
Mike Munchak
Kris Richard
From the @NFLResearch team on coaching changes in recent years. What’s interesting is there were only three in 2010. That year was certainly an anomaly. Oh, and we’re still watching John Harbaugh in Baltimore so nine this year remains possible. pic.twitter.com/Zt43I3JWmB
— Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) January 1, 2019
I would sign Peterson today. Every dollar invested in him is a dollar invested in Guice.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) December 31, 2018
There's no better professional mentor for Guice than AP, and he told me in our sit-down that he's willing to split carries. https://t.co/R9RTpPIUSi
Only one NFL quarterback played every snap for his team this season: Russell Wilson. He's never missed a single game or start in his seven pro seasons.

There was a time when you could have believed that Kirk Cousins to the Vikings, Alex Smith to the Redskins and Case Keenum to the Broncos would be a win-all-around scenario. Not so much, as it turned out... https://t.co/XT9CO8ncQt
— MarkMaske (@MarkMaske) January 1, 2019
I believe the sentiment among some veteran head coaches is that they want every official to call each penalty they see regardless of number so games are officiated fairly and the integrity of game is preserved. https://t.co/fLF3LSItC2

Antonio Brown has requested a trade. Im told it was not a demand but he has asked to be dealt. Very unlikely Rooney would capitulate. Brown has issues with Mike Tomlin and Ben Roethlisberger. Feels like the coach is too aligned with the QB.
— Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) January 1, 2019
The latest:
— SB Nation NFL (@SBNationNFL) January 1, 2019
-Ben Roethlisberger said he didn’t witness Antonio Brown's apparent “blowup”
-Nah, the Steelers probably wouldn’t trade ABhttps://t.co/Z9MC9KeCMs
All prorated money sticks with the old team and the rest of the deal moves to the new team. So for AB $21M dead for the Steelers and non guaranteed cap hits of $15.1M, $11.3M, and $12.5M for team that traded for him https://t.co/W2gcLNC83T

The NFL depends on the labor of black men, particularly from the South, sacrificing their bodies to escape poverty.
— Master (@MasterTes) January 1, 2019
How can the NFL, and its 32 teams, better support black men and the trauma they carry while attempting to thrive in a very stressful and violent environment?

There's a reason why you are "hearing" this... It's the same reason why the media "heard" that Sam Darnold was a lock to be the #Browns 1st overall draft pick this year or that Todd Haley was going to be promoted to HC when Hue was getting fired. https://t.co/6x8kyXsMoc

When you think about it, the #Browns kept the Steelers out of the playoffs with that Week 1 tie.

It's been a great ride #Cleveland. It's a shame Jimmy Haslam screwed up yet again and fired the greatest coach to ever take a dump in First Energy Stadium. Thank you for the lozenges and we will always have the C-gap. Go #Browns and never forget: #ComeGetSome. pic.twitter.com/yh8AUcE8EN
