Redskins must reverse opening game trend under Jay Gruden | ESPN.com
“I see his leadership; I see him not leaving plays on the field,” Richardson said. “I don’t see him saying, ‘OK, we messed this up but we’ll get to it later.’ I see him making those corrections immediately. He’s communicating with the offensive line, with the backs, the receivers, the tight ends. We know what to expect from him. He doesn’t have any let-up in him. Even in the preseason, he’s scrambling and taking hits. He’s not just trying to stay pretty. It means something to him.”
The matchup the safety is referring to is the ‘Skins-Broncos dress rehearsal, in which the Burgundy and Gold’s defense struggled to do anything right. Royce Freeman and Emmanuel Sanders both scored on the ground, Case Keenum faced no pressure at QB and Greg Manusky’s group had major issues tackling.
NFL Predictions 2018: What will the Redskins record be this season? | Hogs Haven
Season predictions are usually a crapshoot as teams have constant changeover every year. There are new teams every year in the playoffs, and usually at least one team that goes from last to first in their division. One of the things that has remained consistent recently is the NFC is the stronger conference and a tougher out than the AFC. Unless you win a weak division like the Redskins did 3 years ago, you’re going to need at least 10 wins to see the postseason.
Week 1 Redskins vs Cardinals: Time for the new defensive line to show up | NBC Washington
From the trenches - The Redskins finished dead last in rush defense last season, and spent much of their offseason trying to fix that issue. The team added Alabama DL Daron Payne in the first round of the NFL Draft, and grabbed Virginia Tech NT Tim Settle in the fifth round. Payne and Settle, along with Jonathan Allen and Matt Ioannidis, should be much improved against the run. And they better start fast. Cardinals RB David Johnson will be a very tough test, and even though he missed most of last season with a wrist injury, expect him to be ready to go.

Peterson should be a positive addition to the Redskins offense and rushing game, but the Redskins shouldn’t expect the Peterson of old. He will probably flirt with 1,000 rushing yards, but might come a little short if he doesn’t get closer to 250 carries. His biggest value will be inside the 10 yard line, where he gives the Redskins a legitimate rushing threat that they haven’t had the past couple of years.
