The National Football League announced today that Washington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson has been voted FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week for his performance in the team’s Week 3 win against the Green Bay Packers.

The weekly honor is Peterson’s first of the season and the 19th of his career following one or more selections in 2007 (two), 2008 (three), 2009 (two), 2010 (one), 2011 (one), 2012 (three), 2013 (three), 2015 (two) and 2017 (one). He becomes the first Redskins running back to receive the award since 2016 and now has earned it while playing for three different organizations (Minnesota Vikings and Arizona Cardinals).

Peterson rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns on 19 attempts (6.3 avg.) to help lift the Redskins to a 31-17 win over the Packers at FedExField last Sunday.
