The Redskins cut down their roster from 90 to 53 players yesterday, and QB Kevin Hogan was one of the last cuts reported. The Redskins weren't expected to keep 3 QBs this year with Colt McCoy locked in as ghe backup with a 1-year extension this year.
Kevin Hogan was aquired by the Redskins via trade from the Cleveland Browns in April by swapping 6th round picks. Hogan has been the 3rd QB, and played the entire preseason game against the Ravens.
He also played in Week 3 of the preseason against...the Denver Broncos. In thst game he was 7/9 for 88 yards and 2 TDs. The Broncos are expected to move on from former 1st round puck Paxton Lynch who lost the backup job to 2nd-year(and former Mr. Irrelevant) QB Chad Kelly.
In other waiver claims news, the Raiders have claimed former Redskins OT T.J. Clemmings.
Raiders claim OT T.J. Clemmings and OT Justin Murray on waivers.
