FanPulse: Redskins fans see biggest jump in confidence after Week 1

NFL: Washington Redskins at Arizona Cardinals Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse — a survey of fans across the NFL, powered by SurveyMonkey. Each week, we send 32 polls to 100+ plugged in fans from each team. Redskins fans, sign up HERE to join FanPulse.

How confident are you in the direction of the team?

Last week: 76 percent confidence

This can’t be surprising to anyone...leaguewide, really. By many metrics we have seen this week, the Redskins played one of the most solid games—if not THE most solid game—of football seen in week one. I know I was feeling pretty confident last week already, and that performance against Arizona sent me a notch higher. I am extremely impressed with the 0% of fans that are “not confident.” We are a decisive bunch!

Will the Redskins win or lose in Week 2?

Odds: Redskins are 6-point favorites

Hogs Haven FanPulse: Redskins by 9

Stampede Blue FanPulse: Colts by 2

Ummmmmmm...my math says that is an 11-point spread between fanbases. Hahaha...Vegas would love us. The Colts fans are a solid eight points more optimistic than the oddsmakers, while Redskins fans are just feeling about a field goal better than sportsbooks. Opponents matter in this discussion. The Bengals are now 2-0, having toppled both Indianapolis and Baltimore (last night). The Redskins beat down a Cardinals team that not many people have a lot of faith in (I wonder what their fan confidence number is this week). I eagerly await the week where these values converge.

Other than QB, what is most valuable to an NFL offense?

Tight end? I mean, I get that the elite tight ends take over games, but 5% of you voted tight end over...any of the other choices? I went left tackle here, while 40% split your vote between running back and wide receiver. It is certainly the case in the league today where a running back or wide receiver on a given team might be more valuable to that team than its left tackle, but that team is not the Redskins. It appears this result is leaguewide, so I am confident that Redskins fans were pretty unanimous on this one.
