Dez Bryant still wants to play for the Redskins

Yay or nay to another former Cowboy?

UPDATE: The Redskins still have no interest in Dez Bryant

Dez Bryant is still looking for work after the Dallas Cowboys kicked him to the curb this year. He is still very bitter about the divorce, and has been airing his grievances at players and management he feels were responsible for his release.

When he was first released, it was reported he wanted to sign with another NFC East team to have the chance to play Dallas at least twice a year. The Redskins weren't interested then, and had a new FA WR, along with a lot of young talent on the team.

Dez made it known last night that he would rather go to New England or Washington than back with the Dallas Cowboys. He's had interest from several teams during the offseason including the Browns and Ravens, but hasn't been able to get a deal done.

Now that Week 1 is almost over, teams could be more willing to sign veterans like Bryant. Their contracts are no longer guaranteed for the season, and they are easier to cut if they don't have anything left in the tank. Bryant should be getting some calls from teams that need an upgrade, or an injury replacement.

The Redskins were down to their top 3 WRs yesterday after rookie Cam Sims injured his ankle on the opening kickoff, and Trey Quinn injured his ankle on a punt return. Both WRs were carted to the locker room and Sims was seen on crutches after the game. Jay Gruden said they would both be getting MRIs today, and the team will go from there.

They were also missing Maurice Harris who has been dealing with a concussion for the last two weeks. That leaves Josh Doctson, Paul Richardson Jr., and Jamison Crowder as the only healthy receivers right now. The Redskins are more likely to re-sign Brian Quick, who lost his spot to Sims, than sign a more expensive Dez Bryant. They also have three WRs on their practice squad(Simmie Cobbs Jr., Darvin Kidsy, and Jehu Chesson) that can be signed if they're needed at the bottom of the depth chart. The Redskins don't need or want Dez Bryant right now, but that won't stop him from letting them know he's available.
