Bio: Sankal begins his third season as a part of the Redskins’ coaching staff. Interestingly, his own sports background is actually rooted more in baseball than football. Before coming to Washington, Sankal had been a strength and conditioning coach for several years at various levels of the Cleveland Indians’ minor-league system. His final stop was with the Class AA Akron RubberDucks. Sankal holds three degrees—a bachelor’s in history from Wooster, a bachelor’s in dietetics from the University of Northern Colorado, and a master’s in exercise science from Cleveland State.

Fun Fact: Sankal was himself a standout college baseball player, starring for the College of Wooster. Sankal helped the Fighting Scots to the NCAA Division III Tournament all four years he played.
