Things are starting to heat up in the Terrelle Pryor vs Redskins war of words. Back in June LB Zach Brown shot off the opening salvo on ESPN 980: ”The boys are going to have it out for him. We can put hands on him now. The boys were already hot for what he was doing last year. Try to one-hand something while you’re with the Jets, you’re going to catch a forearm.”
Terrelle Pryor was infamous for making spectacular catches that got fans excited during training camp last season. Defensive players were frustrated in camp because they weren't allowed to hit Pryor. Bashaud Breeland was even thrown out of a practice because of his frustration with not being allowed to be physicsl with Pryor.
Those twitter highlights didn't translate to the field and Pryor ended his one season in Washington with 20 catches for 240 yards and 1 TD. Pryor dealt with an ankle injury that eventuslly ended his season, but he was a mess as a receiver here.
The Redskins will be hosting the Jets for joint practices August 12-14 and play in the preseason on August 16th. Pryor spoke about facing his former teammates today: "We’re there to practice and get better. If I wanted to put my shoulder down and hit one of them, and get chippy, too, I’m sure I could do that. But that’s not why we’re there.
”If they take dirty shots, I’m sure we’ll handle that accordingly. You start trying to make it an individual thing, it takes away from our team. I don’t want to individualize myself.”
There will be fights...
