Redskins players and coaches reported to Richmond, VA yesterday for some conditioning, and will begin their 2+ weeks of training camp practices today at 9:45am. The team will be holding their practices in the morning, and walkthroughs in the afternoon in an attempt to help with recovery per Jay Gruden.
The Head Coach held his introductory training camp presser yesterday. He talked about injuries including Josh Doctson's MRI on his Achilles, new QB Alex Smith, rookie DB Derrius Guice, and expectations for the team. The Redskins also cut the always injured Keith Marshall, placed Stacy McGee on PUP(groin surgery), and placed Joshua Holsey on the NFI list for a freak foot injury.

Something worth watching during camp: Twice Alex Smith threw the ball to Josh Doctson before Doctson made his cut. That's a catch that the previous quarterback didn't often trust Doctson to make. https://t.co/g4maY8p0rQ

Trey Quinn with a nice downfield catch as he went down to the ground. #hyperocket

First real look at rookie LB Shaun Dion Hamilton. Looks quick, agile. Want to seem him fill holes against run though. That won’t happen til the pads come on
— JP Finlay (@JPFinlayNBCS) July 26, 2018
Quick just stole an INT from Moreau and turned it into a TD. Moreau looked to be in perfect position as a McCoy pass hung a bit. Quick adjusted and undercut Moreau and went up high to grab it. About a 50 yd score. Maybe the play of the day. #redskins
— Kareem Copeland (@kareemcopeland) July 26, 2018
Brian Quick just picked one off Fabian Moreau’s helmet for a filthy catch. He’s just a pro who knows how to play the NFL game. That simple to me.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) July 26, 2018
Sick hands by Doctson on a quick out to start two minute. Norman couldn’t believe he caught it. Frankly, neither can I. Ball was on him so fast and it was low on his back hip.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) July 26, 2018
DB Kenny Ladler just laid out TE Matt Flanagan while intercepting a Kevin Hogan floater. Flanagan should do to huddle and tell Hogan don’t do that again. #redskins
— Chick Hernandez (@MrChickSports) July 26, 2018
INT in team for Kenny Ladler, who comes back to the sideline yelling “Y’ALL GON LEARN THE NAME!” to the fans in-between love from his teammates. Picked off Hogan, who threw a terrible seam ball.

So far so good for Josh Doctson #redskins can’t show you actual practice #redskins pic.twitter.com/sef5Uerynh

Nice pass breakup from DJ Swearinger on deep ball to Paul Richardson. Dunbar in good coverage too.
— JP Finlay (@JPFinlayNBCS) July 26, 2018
One thing noticeable early on: #Redskins have Alex Smith on the move a bunch.

Ioannidis getting the first team reps this team period alongside Payne and Allen. #Redskins
— Kareem Copeland (@kareemcopeland) July 26, 2018
Jeremy Sprinkle has had moments this summer with Reed out. He just had a nice 30-yard reception on a Smith pass.
— Matthew Paras (@Matthew_Paras) July 26, 2018
Guice definitely shows the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. He looks solid in his first ever NFL training camp. #Redskins
— Lake Lewis Jr (@LakeLewis) July 26, 2018
I’ll qualify that with the fact that most of them have been shorter and underneath throws. Not much downfield. #redskins https://t.co/h727hhTXR7
— Kareem Copeland (@kareemcopeland) July 26, 2018
Best part of camp - OL vs DL drills. Phil Taylor looking spry. Daron Payne looks wildly strong.
— JP Finlay (@JPFinlayNBCS) July 26, 2018
With ZB out that means Josh Harvey Clemons gets the snaps with first team D. He’s skinny for a LB but seems to find the football.

Trainers putting a big ice wrap on his upper knee. Maybe his thigh. Brown not happy but able to walk and move around. pic.twitter.com/2pWiG3HSms

Robert Kelley got the first official touch in 11-on-11 drills. CT was the first overall offensive touch of the day. #Redskins
— Lake Lewis Jr (@LakeLewis) July 26, 2018
Zach Brown was down, getting looked at by trainers. Just got up and left the field with them. Walked off without any visible issue. #Redskins
— Kareem Copeland (@kareemcopeland) July 26, 2018
Zach Brown limping after the second 11-on-11 snap. Trained looking at his leg. Now in the trainer’s tent. #Redskins

First one-on-one to is Doctson on Scandrick. Doctson ran a deep corner and Scandrick broke it up playing through Doctson’s hands on a late through.
— Craig Hoffman (@CraigHoffman) July 26, 2018
Scandrick, to WR coach Ike Hilliard: “Really Ike?! First f***ing play?!”

First drill we’ve seen the entire #redskins starting line together since last season: Williams, Lauvao, Roullier, Scherff, Moses. Not going against the D. Gruden said Williams and Moses would be limit. But better than summer workouts.
