Countdown to Camp: Does Maurice Harris Have A Future with the Redskins?

Hogs Haven has a few questions that coaches will likely have to answer as training camp approaches.

Maurice Harris is a third-year wide receiver who has produced in a limited amount of time, but has consistently found himself at the bottom of the depth chart for Washington. He has proven to be a sure-handed receiver and a reliable target for Redskins quarterbacks, and became a fan favorite with what may have been the team’s catch of the year in last year’s week 10 matchup against the Vikings.

However in his two seasons with the Redskins, Harris has played only 16 games, tallying just 12 catches for 128 yards including only four all of last season. This year, Harris will face some tough competition at wideout. With the addition of Paul Richardson, Trey Quinn, and the return of Brian Quick, Harris has another significant uphill climb this 2018 season.

Harris is in need of a huge preseason to convince the coaches that he is worth being kept on the roster as he battles Quinn, Quick, Robert Davis, and Simmie Cobbs Jr. at his position. The positive for Harris though, is that if he is cut, he will certainly not be out of a job for long.

Has Maurice Harris reached his final year with the Redskins? Will he make it to the final 53-man roster? Why or why not?
