It may just be filling the time before training camp kicks off, but NFL Network’s morning show Good Morning Football speculated on whether or not Derrius Guice and Chris Thompson could be as dynamic as last year’s stud tandem of Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram in New Orleans.

Last year’s Offensive Rookie of the Year Alvin Kamara racked up a gaudy 1,554 yards from scrimmage and 13 total touchdowns while averaging an incredibly efficient 7.73 yards per touch. Ingram contributed 1,124 yards on the ground (4.9 YPC) and 12 touchdowns.
While Derrius Guice isn’t billed as a dynamic threat out of the backfield like Kamara was, his violent running style has been compared to Marshawn Lynch and his 4.49-second 40-yard dash was 5th among RBs at the Combine. Chris Thompson, on the other hand, was on pace for over 800 receiving yards before breaking his leg in Week 10 against Kamara and Ingram’s Saints.
Do you think Guice and Thompson could replicate the Saint’s dynamic rushing attack or is this just more offseason fodder?
