Seven things we learned about Alex Smith | Redskins.com
“We’re both from San Diego,” O’Connell said. “When Alex was a senior in high school, I was a junior. We played against each other in some passing tournaments, never in a real game or 7-on-7’s and stuff. I’ve known Alex for a long time. One of the main reasons why I was so excited about getting him was I know what he’s like as a leader.”

10 questions in 10 days: What can the Redskins expect out of Derrius Guice | NBC Washington
One problem with extrapolating too much data from last season is the crazy amount of variables. Late in the year, with Perine largely ineffective and a very beat up offensive line, the Redskins simply couldn’t produce on the ground. In their last five games of 2017, the Redskins never rushed for more than 100 yards. They averaged just 60 yards-per-game on the ground during that stretch, including a season low 31 rush yards against Arizona in December.

Jordan Reed’s health
This does not need much explanation if you’ve been paying attention the last several years. It would be both a good sign and a major surprise if he starts camp healthy and doesn’t miss any time due to injuries. If he’s out there, there is no question that he and Smith will quickly develop chemistry.
Redskins 53 Man roster prediction | Fanspeak.com
– The Redskins figure to keep either 6 or 7 defensive linemen, but with this being another position with a higher injury rate, they are probably lean towards the latter. Allen, Payne and Ioannidis figure to play the majority of the snaps and be the key to the defensive line. McGee contributes on rushing downs, while Lanier has shown the ability to put up good pressure numbers. Settle was a steal in the 5th round and he has the potential to be a serious contributor down the road. Even as a rookie he can help bolster the run defense.
