In my home record predictions, it was stated that I believe that the Redskins will have a breakout season in 2018. Based on this belief, the “Way too early predictions” reflects a record that might surprise the majority of Redskins fans.
The issue with the 2017 Redskins besides extraordinarily random and unexplainable outings of ineptitude, was the injuries accumulated over the season. What the Redskins have accomplished to this point in the off-season has been building depth while adding top talent in areas of need. Though there are question marks still left at a few positions, the roster is still above average and creeping into the very good range. With that being said, let’s get to it:
Week 1 @ Arizona Cardinals – W
Week 5 @ New Orleans Saints – L
Week 8 @ New York Giants – W
Week 10 @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers – W
Week 12 @ Dallas Cowboys – L
Week 13 @ Philadelphia Eagles – L
Week 15 @ Jacksonville Jaguars – L
Week 16 @ Tennessee Titans – W
Following a 4-4 road record prediction that puts the Redskins at an 11-5 2018 season. In the inaugural season of the Jay Gruden and Alex Smith marriage, it starts off very well. However, on the road, the Redskins will face their challenges due to the concerns of the secondary, plus the factor of being on the road. New Orleans and Philadelphia will challenge Washington to play physical yet disciplined football, ultimately getting the best of the Redskins on their respective home turf. Jaguars are a young up-and-coming team who after years of being in the dumps, has built a roster that is strong on both sides of the football, and well-coached. I have said what I felt; now it is on Washington to help my predictions to come through!
